'ALWAYS FIND GOD IN IT'

1 CORINTHIANS 10:31
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do , do it all for the glory of God.

COLOSSIANS 3:17
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The above verses precedes my INTRO today and is a fulcrum to the title in focus-'ALWAYS FIND GOD IN IT'

We love God. We believe in his son Jesus Christ &that his Holy Spirit lives in us leading us unto all truth.
(That is not in doubt!!!)

We believe God knows, is interested and has solutions to every area of our lives.

EVEN THE MINUTEST DETAIL???
However, the simple questions are:
Do we allow him to???
Do we believe in that enough???

Those simple questions lie at the heart of today's message.

Beloved,many are the huge, middle lines & tiny compartmentalizations in our lives.
What are they?
How do you treat them?

Do you know one thing, mostly we treat these areas unconsciously?
Before I go into that, check out these various situations:

*Having stayed home jobless for more than 5years,sent countless applications, exhausted all your high society links and even paid all the bribes; I ASK THIS:  'WILL YOU FIND GOD IN IT' AFTER ALL HOPE IS GONE?

*What about that chronic illness gradually taking your Granny who is the only committed relative ready to take you through school.

I'm sure your answers will be YES to the above question-WILL YOU FIND GOD IN IT?

*So what about having some GHC5000 sitting fatly in your account but needing something around the region of GHC 6200 to GO FAR in that project.
Hmm...a big LIKELIHOOD of not really FINDING GOD IN IT because after all you can start it.

*Then, ignoring that sincere&joyous greeting from the security just to wait in hopeless anticipation of a wave from your superior.
OR Is it how you always belittle people, want to WIN at all costs and let them be at your beck and call.

No I'm not sure you FIND JESUS IN IT because in the above we rather quote  scriptures I'M THE HEAD&NOT THE TAIL to vainly back it.

I'm sure you see the different levels of the above situations. Some really serious &the latter almost always treated lightly.

As I was saying, the sad thing is that we mostly do this unconsciously.
Why? because we have built it into our subconscious that this is for God and that one 'de3'...God even knows line 'no'

Brethren, the key solution is to start freeing(renewing)our minds of such and TRULY and REALLY see God in OUR EVERY SINGLE DETAIL.

This is still embedded in GRADUALLY building  an intimate personal relationship with God. That's all it takes.

With that you will find God in everything even as you sit at that closet to free those unwanted bowels.

You'll face challenges, the flesh, pressures and all that will come alive BUT you'll get to the point Paul got to.

Not to stop at 'the good I want to do, I'm unable to....but you'll PRESS ON &say I have fought a good fight, finished the race...

It's possible...very possible to get to the point where the whitest of lies is just so impossible for you because you've found your true nature.

As you begin to embark on this new but innate spiritual journey; you would realise it's the sweetest...in fact, it's all you ever needed.
(THUS, TO FIND GOD IN EVERYTHING)

So as for me Otuo Serebour 'de3',even when I button my shirt, take a step or sneeze 'mpo a'; I FIND GOD IN IT 'papa'

SO I SAY TO YOU:
'ALWAYS FIND GOD IN IT'

THE LOST COIN(LUKE15)

                          Let me tell you a story this morning.

"This is a story of a woman and her son who have been specially invited for a banquet as distinguished guests.This is a ceremony they can’t afford to miss.

On their way to the ceremony, the son who was playing with a number of coins his mother gave him, excitedly told her of one of the coins he really admired.

In looking through the coins, the mother found out that one of the coins which was small, dirty and insignificant in value was conspicuously missing.

This led her to look for THAT coin intensely which was of no essence to the son. The son was lackadaisical about it especially when it was insignificant in value& he was so eager for the special banquet.

They eventually found that coin (by the son)languishing somewhere innocently aside its dirty self.

The mother looked on as the son stood still, keenly looking at the coin.He uttered:

'MUMMY, MUMMY, I THINK I NOW UNDERSTAND WHY YOU SAID WE SHOULD LOOK FOR THAT COIN' "

Beloved,  this is a classical story about SOUL-WINNING with its baseline extracted from the Bible. That's Luke 15.

Basically, it tells us of our EVANGELISM CALL EVEN IF IT'S JUST FOR A WRETCHED SOUL.Interestingly, there are stories/parables about the LOST SHEEP&THE LOST SON(Prodigal son) as well.

You remember this:
V. 8 “OR SUPPOSE A WOMAN HAS TEN SILVER COINS AND LOSES ONE. DOES SHE NOT LIGHT A LAMP, SWEEP THE HOUSE AND SEARCH CAREFULLY UNTIL SHE FINDS IT?

V. 9 “AND WHEN SHE FINDS IT, SHE CALLS HER FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS TOGETHER AND SAYS, ‘REJOICE WITH ME; I HAVE FOUND MY LOST COIN.”  

This is what JESUS wants you to do just as he did for you(A LOST COIN).

BELOVED, WITH ALL OUR MIGHT,STRENGTH, POWER GIVEN US FROM ABOVE, LET'S LOOK FOR THE LOST COIN!

SO I SAY:
SEARCH  FOR 'THE  LOST COIN'

Good morning.

All I want you to do is to think deeply about the passage below and let the Holy Spirit speak to you.

That's MEDITATE!!!

HEBREWS 12:1-13

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run  with endurance the race that is set before us,

2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising  the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

DO NOT GROW WEARY

3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

5 And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son,  do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.

6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”

7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

8 If you are left without discipline,  in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits l and live?

10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good,  that we may share his holiness.

11  For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

12 Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees,

13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.

The EASTER festivities are here once again.  WE THANK GOD.

We celebrate the  Crucifixion, Death&Resurrection of our LORD&SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.

Now, if we're CELEBRATING, then no need to mourn at all as we used to but to REJOICE because his death is rather a GREAT GAIN(LIFE) for us. So why mourn???

Okay, it's now time to bring you the much talked about 'WORDFUL EASTER SERIES'.(Retitled the C_D_R series)

This first part of 'ON THIS MORNING' gives you an INTRO of how the series will be.

I title the Easter series WORDFUL because we'll be using WORDS(phrases at times) to depict the Crucifixion, Death&Resurrection of JESUS CHRIST.

THAT IS ALL!!!

We'll look at some WORDS on the lead up and on his CRUCIFIXION itself right after this INTRO.

His DEATH will be on Saturday on MESSAGE FOR THE EVENING.

Sunday Morning will be for his RESURRECTION and we'll continue to celebrate it on Monday as we rap up.

I know a lot of people  will have fun. What kind of fun???

'LIGHT-A KEY ELEMENT DESCRIBING OUR LORD'(PART 2)

I bring you PART 2 of the Series 'LIGHT-A KEY ELEMENT DESCRIBING OUR LORD' today.

We ended on 'ON THIS MORNING' last Friday on the one& only true source of LIGHT.

Today,we zoom straight into the Scriptures but to first let's capture what the DIVINE source says:

Genesis1:3
'AND GOD SAID,“LET THERE BE LIGHT,”AND THERE WAS LIGHT.'

This was the first mention of LIGHT so far as the Holy Book is concerned.
Well, reading on in the Genesis account,LIGHT couldn't co-exist with darkness and so was divided.

He called the LIGHT day&Darkness night.He did this through the same LIGHT which he established in the firmament of the Heavens.

LIGHT had to reign so he made greater light for day and the lesser light for the night.(which was the darkness)

Okayy, so throughout the Old testament account,LIGHT played essentially these roles&still is:
 
* For signs,seasons,days&years(Gen.1:14)
* A key components in Sacrifices at the time with the use of lamps
( Exod. 40:25,Num.8:2)
* LIGHT represents Hope.( I kings 11:36&2kings 8:19-)

*In 2Kings 7:7,we see the word twilight& the running away from morning light. We see it as a strategy in attacks& wars (dwelling on its seasons&times)

A look into the New testament sharply divide LIGHT into 2 divisions.
That's You as the LIGHT& JESUS(GOD) as the ultimate representation of  LIGHT which we bear.

However, let's look its other mentions:Lighting are obviously associated.We see in Matt.3:16,when after Jesus was baptised& the spirit descended like a dove; we see a LIGHTING upon him.

Others in Matt. 24:27,Luke 10:18& many others where LIGHNTING shows the doomful side of God.

Light gives us SIGHT that's why the Bible says the eye is the LIGHT of the body.
(Corrupt it, you corrupt the whole body-Luke 11:34)

In Acts, Paul met the LIGHT of God at the road to Damascus upon his conversion. What about Peter in prison when the shine of  LIGHT FREED them.

Beloved, have you noticed the immediate appearance of LIGHT don't only make us see
but are able to see things very well. That is ENLIGHTENMENT
(Eph1:18).

All these are what GOD (Jesus) is to us.That's why John 8:12 says “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

1John1:5b
'This is the message we have heard from you and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Most importantly, this is what he has made us because he being LIGHT dwells in us.

We can't never fail to illuminate this light because in
Ephesians 5:8 he says
'For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
THEREFORE,
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Let your LIGHT so shine before men, ,that they may see your good works&glotify your father wjich is in Heaven.(Matt.5:14&16)

LIGHT gives ,hope,faith, purity,life and above all is of GOD.

SO I SAY:
LIGHT IS A KEY ELEMENT DESCRIBING OUR GOD.

'A SEQUEL TO EEEI THIS UNPREDICTABLE GOD NO NO'

I'm sure you remember on February 23 we did   'EEEI THIS UNPREDICTABLE GOD NO NO'.

Okay, so I tersely recount them and tell you what God told me about those situations. 

Let's kick off with Abraham, the man of Faith. You remember we looked at how God just told him to go to a place he'll show him.

Now, that was just so unusual&unpredictable.Thinking about it, let me ask you this:

What if God had provided us with EVERYTHING... just on a silver platter or gives us easy access to ALL WE NEED???

That will make him so predictable&we'll even normalize his ways questioning his sovereignty.

The key ingredient here is FAITH.

Beloved,God has it all, can give it all but as a matter of Faith, he tells us to just trust&obey.This is exactly what Abraham did&the end results, we all know. (Genesis 12-)

Another one we touched on was Jesus' healing of the blind with Saliva (Mark 8:22-26).Simply, it shows that he's God and that he can use whatsoever he pleases at whatever time &place to accomplish his purpose.(Remember, he created them in the first place).

JESUS(GOD) CAN'T BE BOXED. Yes, he uses  the things we know- air, water, oil, handkerchief et al. However, what's important is to be led by the Spirit or MUST be based on the Word of GOD.

Let's take NOTE- God can use everything yet we must equally know the same God is ONE OF ORDER.It is very essential WE ALLOW his WORD &HOLY SPIRITto lead us  because this can be easily abused.

Also, in 2 Chron. 20 where God used just Songs of Praise to defeat the enemies of Israel by causing them to fight against themselves.

Now, that was very unsuspecting. You're very ready for battle, in your full battalion&with all your full arsenals. Then, just out of nowhere, God tells you to just SING.

Will you do that if it were you? Will you even regard it as from God. And the unpredictability in it all is that he may prescribe an entirely different solution for an almost similar situation or can still repeat it. Hmmm...😀 (The reason why we just have live according to the dictates of the Spirit)

Now, everything sums up to JESUS himself. Everyhng about him- His birth, ministry,crucifixion, death&resurrection are all a wonder&so unpredictable.

It's not surprising that Christians who used to mourn him on his death are gradually understanding and properly seeing as the VICTORY as it is even now.Jesus' death isn't one to be mournful of but to rejoice in because his death is rather a gain for us. Simply, it is through that, that we have  LIFE!

Therefore, it's no wonder though a wonder that God himself had to come down to save us.Another wonder in its unpredictable fashion is the Holy Spirit(God) who overshadowed Mary out of which Jesus(the saviour) came forth. (You can only shake your head to this, yet it truly and rightly show the God he is. None like him.)

Surely, the Trinity at work here indicating their oneness.Also, confirmed in Isaiah 7:14 which says 'AND THE LORD HIMSELF WILL GIVE YOU A SIGN...'

SO I SAY:
With all these, you can only utter these words
'EEEI THIS UNPREDICTABLE GOD NO NO AND THIS IS A SEQUEL.'

WITHOUT THE WORD?...

Today, I briefly treat you to some of the basic things we miss when we're WITHOUT THE WORD!

So,WITHOUT THE WORD, YOU ARE TOAST!. Yes, like TOASTED BREAD as someone will say.

Anyway, a lot of things happen  to us when we're WITHOUT THE WORD.

A lot of temptations come our way just because we are WITHOUT THE WORD.

Our prayers fail to crawl, walk, let alone rise to scale over the Ceiling to reach God ALL BECAUSE WE'RE WITHOUT THE WORD.

We lose what  is so dear to our heart  just because we forsook the word...meaning we were(are) WITHOUT THE WORD.

We succumb to the world &its pressures only because WE ARE WITHOUT THE WORD.

HOWEVER, WITH THE WORD, WE HAVE POWER FOR THERE IS POWER IN HIS WORD.

Hebrews 4: 12(Amplified)
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

SO WHAT CAN I SAY:

SIMPLY, BE WITH THE WORD OF GOD, FOR WITHOUT THE WORD... YOU ARE TOAST!!!

Erase the popularity mentality about the verses And MEDITATE especially as we get into Easter (Christ Crucifixion, Death& Resurrection)

JOHN 3:16-21
16-For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17- For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

18 -Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

LIGHT-‘KEY ELEMENTS DESCRIBING OUR GOD’(PART 1)

Our latest series ‘KEY ELEMENTS DESCRIBING OUR GOD’continues.

In this series, we'll be using variouselements to give a clearer and deeper description of our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY AND OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.

We looked at WATER last week. This week, we look at LIGHT(Gen 1)& this is PART 1.

Okay, So:
The entire universe is made up of certain materials or elements. The beauty of it is that God made them in their diversity- some visible & others not.

This is for our own benefit & most importantly to help in serving him pleasingly.

Now,
LIGHT is an electromagnetic radiation within a certain portion of the
electromagnetic spectrum with its speed in a vacuum of 186,281 miles/ 300,000 kilometers/ 299,792,458 meters per second.
(I even confuse sef...break it down wai)

Simply, LIGHT is a form of energy or 'something' that makes it possible to see.(Aaa!,SIMPLE)

The sources of LIGHT are numerous. We have fire, electric lamp,candles and many others.

Other..... sources are the SUN,STARS & the MOON.
Does that lead us somewhere?
Does that fill in the gap there?

Certainly, this tells us there are NATURAL and ARTIFICIAL sources and I'm sure you know where to place what.

It's good scientists  agree to this and go on to tell us  that LIGHT as we call it is only the VISIBLE LIGHT we  only see.
(Meaning there is that LIGHT 'process' we don't see)

They also tell us animals can see different types of light. Dogs can see only shades of gray and some insects can see light from the ultraviolet part of the spectrum.
(For example, fireflies use light to locate mates, and vampire squids use it to hide themselves from prey
The process is called Bioluminescence.)

IT'S GETTING SCIENTIFIC EE? I KNOW BUT  KINDLY RIDE  ALONG WITH ME ON THIS LIGHT JOURNEY.

We also learnt that SUNLIGHT is used by plants to prepare their Food (Photosynthesis)

*Lastly,it takes about 7 minutes for light from the Sun to reach Earth.
*It takes over 4years for the light from our Sun to get to the nearest star.
*It would take a particle of light over 100,000 years to get from one side of our galaxy to the other side.

Beloved, does all these tell us  something about LIGHT?

Celestial body, the representation of light in art, INNER LIGHT,
TRUTH, ENLIGHTENMENT, ILLUMINATION.

A reflection of all the information above tell you that Light has a  one divine source and that is in GENESIS 1:3.

* LORD, I want to read your WORD daily but I  feel lazy anytime I open your WORD.

We do another 'MEDITATE' time this morning.

We all go through "times'as Christians. Some right now, ,others are yet to come. 

This is a running thing for believers and so I implore you to MEDITATE on ISAIAH 40:27-31.

27 Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel,“My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God”?

'SIN REDEFINED- (PART 3-FINAL)'

We do the final Part(PART 3) of SIN REDEFINED-
(Of course, the minus 'negative' sign simply tells us we're redefining SIN wrongly)

So far we've established two things.
That is how we have basically REDEFINED SIN  to what's only BIG and how the Bible views this negatively growing phenomenon.

However, this morning we realised  that though there are bigger sins but what GOD wants us to be weary of, know and cut out are the LITTLE LITTLE SINS that graduate to the big ones.

(WATCH OUT FOR MORE ON THE LITTLE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE )

Today, we look practical situations of SIN REDEFINED-

*When you aren't a degree holder&you haven't said that you are but the wording in your CV raises you above someone like that.Hmmm...

 

*When you lost yourself  when that phone or gadget went missing for 2mins..

*When you gave your child the unrestricted room to operate with peers, over pampering and leaving him to scornfully treat people with disdain... What did you expect ADDICTIONS AND A VAGABOND TO THE SOCIETY. 

*When you blatantly went down the aisle with him even though you knew right from the onset he had shown interest not in you but your riches&beauty.

*You know this skirt de3 ee, that revealing Trousers 'ooo' or the motive for wearing that nicely weaved Kente is simply ulterior yet you've stepped out defending it with Scripture.

(That's when we see their empty confidence and fake I don't 'carism' attitude...I LEAVE THIS ONE FOR YOU TO DECIDE YOURSELF)

*When you constantly visit your loving faithful girlfriend every night leaving at odd hours...what did you expect 'BODY no bi firewood ooo'

*When you constantly treat him anyhow as a husband or is it s a wife and...

*When the church continues to hammer on Prosperity whiles only 'chiseling' on Salvation, Grace (sexual immorality)... What do we expect ADULTERY and FORNICATION and woe we cry foul...

There are countless of them ooo.
Beloved, if we truly understand what GRACE really mean, we wouldn't be dabbling in SIN 'REDEFINEDs'

It's like that precious jewellery or attire that you wear once a year and have kept hidden in a nice safe place..That is Grace and that is we should jealous of our faith dessting from SIN 'REDEFINEDs'.

My Brothers and Sisters eee, don't misconstrue the Crowns in heaven truth in the Bible, for we don't receive bigger crowns just by avoiding the so called bigger sins but it is by living out our GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE.

(It will surprise you to see prostitutes or sex maniacs in heaven just because they've repented&lived pleasingly thereafter.)

SO I SAY:
LET US BE WEARY OF THIS SETTLING OR ALREADY CREPT IN SYNDROME-

SIN REDEFINED-(PART 2)

We rather do PART 2 of SIN REDEFINED- today.( SIN REDEFINED- with a 'negative' minus  sign) This simply means  redefining SIN wrongly.

So we ended Friday morning on the fact that God hates sin at all forms, levels, size and at all times.

CONTINUING:
In this modern era (that we're all in) 'WHAT IS SIN' seem to have metamorphosed.
I mean changed to the negative. SIN REDEFINED-

Sin is viewed in the context of its enormity. We mostly accept it only when it's BIG glossing over the LITTLE LITTLE ONES. 

I know there are those we call bigger sins. I won't disagree..ee on that term per say especially as human as we are. 

Yes, some of the sins are big in nature with dire or greater consequences.

In 1 Cor.6:18, Paul talks about our infamously famous sexual immorality saying  'Flee from Sexual Immorality.  All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually sins against their own body.'

However, and most importantly  how does a sin travel to the exreme lengths of Sexual Immorality, Robbery, Addictions & the like.

It's  because the LITTLE LITTLE THINGS have been 'chronically'     overlooked.
Beloved, this is what God is primarily interested  in.

He doesn't wait to scream on us or is just interested in punishing us with the bigger sins. (As men/churches do, when someone commits fornication)

SIMPLY, HE WANTS US TO OBEY HIM WITH THOSE SIMPLE  FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS IN HIS WORD.

Unlike man, he provides at every step;  those simple countless ways by which we can live for him. (THE SAD TRUTH IS WE IGNORE THEM)

These scriptures give us a clear picture of what our our lives should hinge on and be a guiding factor right from the basis. 

Joshua 1:8
"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."

2 Timothy 3:16-17
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.

" Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourself. DO WHAT IT SAYS.

Beloved, let's bury, soak, fortify ourselves with THE WORD OF GOD at all times so that we'll be enabled to deal with those little little sins that graduates into SIN REDEFINED-  which we only justify.

V.3 He is like a tree planted by the streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. WHATEVER HE DOES PROSPERS.

V.4 Not so the wicked!They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 

V.5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

V.6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous but the way of the wicked will perish.

'SIN REDEFINED- '(PART 1)

'Sin Redefined-'(with a 'negative' minus sign)is my title. 

Intentionally, I have a lot of scriptures which I would really implore you to read. 

James 4:17, James 1:15, 1John 1:8-10, 1John 3:4, Mark 7:20-23, Galatians 5:19-21, Genesis 4:7, 1Corinthians 6:9-10, 1Corinthians 6:19-20, Hebrews 10:26, Matthew 5:28,

2 Corinthians 5:21 is my last verse here which is a solution to all.

THE BODY OF THE MESSAGE NOW:
I was having a usual discussion with a  female colleague at the office just yesterday and she said something which has informed ON THIS MORNING today. 

It was about SIN & she said these days the devil has made us view sex (fornication or adultery) as the only SIN. (main SIN)

Yes, this is something that I'm sure you know. I do too. Therefore, I ask my simple questions as I always do.

I will make it close ended questions giving you multiple answers to choose from.

So, how well do you know the above statement???
i) Not heard ooo

ii) Heard 'something' like that

iii)ooh I know!

iv) I know just that it's difficult considering the times so..

v) I know and do well to count on God's Grace to help me.

These are the options. You know exactly where you stand. 'This one no lukewarm matter for here oo'

In my view, SIN is A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G that displeases GOD. SIMPLE!!! (Nothing more,Nothing Less.)

God hates SIN and so he created the world without SIN.  With the unwarranted appearance of sin, MAN the embodiment of it had to be driven out of God's presence. 

(NOTE THE KIND OF SIN THAT ADAM&EVE COMMITTED. IT WAS A SIN THAT DIDN'T LOOK THAT BIG 'ANAA?')

Of course, the propitiation was made and the rest they say is history.

SERIES: MAJOR ELEMENTS DESCRIBING OUR GOD( A LOOK AT WATER-PART 2)

Hello, Good morning.You woke up, well& able to respond to this.
Simply, join me and let's say THANK YOU LORD!!!

 

So, very soon you'll grab your breakfast I'm sure &when choked or after it all, you'll sooth it down with some WATER.

YOU KNOW THAT  UNDENIABLE FEELING?

We continue with  the series 'KEY ELEMENTS DESCRIBING OUR GOD' SERIES.
Water is our focus.  This is Part 2.

Continuing from the WATER ELEMENT in the New Testament,Jesus knew this, that's why he crowned it all for us in John 4 with the Samaritan woman.

It was the well (water)experience.These are some key verses from that:

v.10 " ...IF YOU KNEW THE GIFT OF GOD, AND WHO IT IS WHO SAYS TO YOU, ‘GIVE ME A DRINK, YOU WOULD HAVE ASKED HIM AND HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU LIVING WATER.”

The woman said to Him,
V.11 "SIR, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DRAW WITH, AND THE WELL IS DEEP. WHERE THEN DO YOU GET THAT LIVING WATER?  

Jesus answered and said to her
V.13-14
'WHOEVER DRINKS OF THIS WATER WILL THIRST AGAIN, BUT WHOEVER DRINKS OF THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM WILL NEVER THIRST.
BUT THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM WILL BECOME IN HIM A FOUNTAIN OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.'

Water here stood in the place of the word. Beloved, as essential as water is in our lives, so does he want us to place his word. 

We ask this question:

What would we do without water???...For we use in our foods, washing, manufacturing, can travel on it, to cool off.

                       WE KNOW WE'LL DEFINITELY DIE WITHOUT IT.

We intimated that Water mainly makes the human body.
Beloved, the WORD of GOD does not mainly make you but it wholly& entirely makes you.

And so, anytime we yearn for water just like the deer pants, Jesus says come to me &I'll give you living water.

So, just as we know we're dead without water, it should remind us of how dead we (were)are without the WORD(GOD himself)

 

By the time I conclude the whole series, you'll find out why these elements can only describe& not be equated to .(TAKE NOTE)

SERIES: MAJOR ELEMENTS DESCRIBING OUR GOD (PART 1) ( A LOOK AT WATER)

Ooh yes I'm liking and enjoying series now.

So we start a new series titled ‘KEY ELEMENTS DESCRIBING OUR GOD’ 

In this series, we'll be using the following elements and more that is WATER, LIGHT, FIRE,EARTH/LAND& AIR to give a clearer and deeper description of our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY AND OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.

Tonight we look at the Water element (Gen 1). As has been the custom of late, we do PART 1 today.

The entire universe is made up of certain materials or elements. The beauty of it is that God made them in their diversity- some visible & others not. This is for our own benefit & most importantly to help in serving him pleasingly.

These elements are in various forms as accounted in biblical times. We have minor elements like doves, salt and many others to look at later but mind you I said key ones so we dwell on WATER now. 

Water is H2O(being scientific) Well, it is a clear liquid without colour, smell or taste that falls as rain or obtained from natural bodies/ resources.

In school& in our science lessons, we say water is colourless, tasteless &odourless. Apart from what its natural state can be used for, water is purified& mainly used for drinking,cooking,washing& other domestic duties. 

 

It also has industrial& productive purposes benefiting man economically&socially. Water covers about 71% of the earth's surface now. I believe you have been reminded of, as well as educated so far. 

I think I better stop here before it turns into an academic lesson.

So, where did water come from? Genesis will help us in chapter 1 v.2
‘AND THE EARTH WAS WITHOUT FORM, AND VOID; AND DARKNESS WAS UPON THE FACE OF THE DEEP. AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD MOVED UPON THE FACE OF THE WATERS'

That was the first mention of water in creation telling us of its source. God in Gen.1, divided the waters into two, so that we can have dry land and the sea (which is full of water).

Dwelling on Gen. 1, after creatures like fish sprang up from it, we saw the use of water running through the Old Testament. 

A lot for domestic purposes& also an aid in sacrifices as well.

However, the ugliest we saw of water was in Noah’s era when it was used to destroy the world at the time all because of sin-Gen.6.

(NO WONDER IN LAST YEAR’S FLOOD DISASTER IN GHANA’S COASTAL AREAS, WE JUST COULDN’T STAND IT. MIND YOU, THAT WAS NOT GOD PUNISHING US BUT WE PUNISHING OURSELVES BECAUSE OF THE P.P FACTOR- POOR PLANNING) 

Entering into the New Testament, we see some basic& important truths about water. The instrumental one is Jesus Baptism in water by John the Baptist in Matt. 3.

John makes a profound statement of the mightier one to come after him  who will baptize with the SPRIT(Jesus himself) 

As we could see, water baptism was a crucial element and still is. It was only made ancillary to the spirit baptism which is all we need now.

More so, the cleansing element & domestic purposes are also reflected in Luke 7:44. However, all these point to one thing that water is a basic necessity we can't do without hence as simple as we say it WATER IS LIFE.

 

I end here with PART 1 which calls for PART 2 tomorrow on 'ON THIS MORNING'.

'MEDITATE!!!' (Psalm 27)

It's Independence Day on a Sunday. We thank God for that.  It's  'MEDITATE' time on a Sunday.(Join me every Sunday then)

Today, we look at Psalm 27. Let's go:

1The LORD is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked advance against meto devour me,it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.

3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.

4 One thing I ask from theLORD,this only do I seek:that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

6 Then my head will be exalted  above the enemies who surround me;at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;I will sing and make music to the LORD.

7 Hear my voice when I call,LORD;be merciful to me and answer me.

8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”Your face, LORD, I will seek.

9 Do not hide your face from me,do not turn your servant away in anger;you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me,God my Savior.

10 Though my father and mother forsake me,the LORD will receive me.

11 Teach me your way, LORD;lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.

12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,for false witnesses rise up against me,
spouting malicious accusations.

13 I remain confident of this:I will see the goodness of the LORDin the land of the living.

14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

'SUA ME...LEARN FROM ME' (PART 2)(1 COR.4:10-17, 11:1)

We continue with SUA ME!..LEARN FROM ME!
(As said intentionally using more of the TWI)

3nti wo nsua me ohn?... Won't you learn from me? (Just kidding once again)

Okay, so we ended yesterday on two (2) classical situations of what 'SUA ME' could mean.

Let's look at both situations once again:

" Hw3 mede3 sua me oo. Na s3 me de3 obiara nim s3 me dwo, me bu ade3,me p3 Nipa, me ny3 basabasa. Wo sua me a,3b3 boa wo ankasa"

(This literally means Hey, you better Learn from me oo.As for me, Everybody knows I'm calm, respectful, friendly and not a bad person. If you learn from me, it will really help you.)

The other one:
"Tie me wate. 3ny3 s3 me de3 me tene na 3mom y3 sua sua y3n ho. Ad3n nti na wa ma  abufuo ahy3 wo so saa. Aden nti na wo nsua wei nfiri me ho..."

(Please listen to me very well.  It's not to say I'm perfect in every sense but we learn from one another.

So, why have you allowed anger to control you.Why don't you learn this from me...)

What did you make out from both situations.(Share them here)

Now, this is my take on the above.

The first says 'SUA ME' but comes across as blowing his own horn though the attributes may be good. 
With that, it ceases to be an advice but bragging about good you're.  This makes its acceptance difficult.

The second  says the same thing of 'SUA ME' but in modesty, sincerety&most importantly drawing the person to his virtues& not herself.

This is exactly what Paul did when he told the church of Corinth to IMITATE him.Mind you the full statement was  IMITATE ME AS I IMITATE CHRIST.Thus, he directed them to the Most high& not himself.

Now, situations such as Paul's may happen in our lives but it shouldn't give us the leeway to brag.

Don't be like “The lizard that jumped from the high iroko tree to the ground & said he would praise himself if no one else did.”

Mind you, there is a THIN LINE between the two situations

Now, we all know that our God is indescribably endowed with an avalanche of attributes.

He deserved all our praises yet he doesn't force us to.  He only tells WE ARE TO OBEY YET DOESN'T BIND US TO. 

Jesus in his three(3)  year ministry sometimes declared that he was the SON OF GOD yet he didn't force it down their throats. The evidence was in the fruits he bore 

This is exactly what Paul did. He could say brethren 'SUA ME'(Learn from me) because he had yielded his entire life to the greater one.

If you want others to imitate you then imitate JESUS CHRIST
(THAT IS JUST THE QUALIFICATION YOU NEED TO SAY 'SUA ME')

'As we imitate him, he tells that in all humility, modesty, selflessness &love; we should by our  lives, intentions&approaches draw others to him.'
(FROM THIS, I SAY BE SOMEONE TO LEARN FROM)

SO I SAY IN ALL HUMILITY,MODESTY &LOVE:

'SUA ME'
