The Digest (Habakkuk 2:14)

 

On Digest this year, one major feature is that Scripture will  explain/interpret Scripture. One Scripture will say one and another scripture will  confirm and throw more light bringing further clarity.

Such is the case of Habakkuk 2:14

Daniel 12:4 confirms it - But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

And So…

*There was a time when the Holy Bible was the preserve of the High Priests and Popes.

*There was a time when the interpretation of Scripture was  the exclusive ‘right’ and duty of only  Reverends and Bishops

*There *was*🤔 a time when the final say of anything Christianity &the Bible was from Minsters of God. What they say is what we do.

We were just subservient….No questions…we just obeyed….taking them as God or demi-god while forgetting that they were only men of God who are fallible hence their words had to be tested with God’s WORD to establish veracity.

(Of course, sad to say it still persists today although there has been some headway here)

The Headway is in terms of the fact that today the knowledge (of Word of God) abounds all over. The Word is preached today by the known, unknown, bloggers or anyone with an opinion on whatever.  Even those least expect - footballers ,oh yeah…they are all over.  (Check all around you)

The Good  thing is that the Scripture as said here is confirmed and it is also good we are having different shades of people whether Jew or Gentile, secular or worldly all coming  or is it associating with Christ (because not all…)

That leads to the DANGER‼️ ….A lot of theologies, misinterpretations,misinformation and most of all a practice of trying to align or mix the world with the things of God(Syncretism).

*To our Pastors and to every Christian teacher(Sunday School), our mandate is still intact. Nothing has changed because of what we see today. However, let’s  train & raise this new generation with the unadulterated word so that whatever they throw out there will be of God.

Remember, all that Habakkuk is saying is- The knowledge that the earth will be filled  with will & should be to the #GLORY of God and we’re to lead the charge #OurMandate.

The DIGEST(John 11:40)

John 11 is basically about the death, what happened in between and eventual the resurrection of Lazarus by  THE ONE who also resurrected from death by HIMSELF-JESUS.

Lazarus was seriously sick, his sisters who were dearly loved by Jesus sent word to him. He chose to wait for days before he told his disciples now let’s now go….. by which time Lazarus was dead!

V.4 states the reason-Jesus said, “ *THIS sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s Glory so that God’s son may be glorious through it.*

The in between-Jesus came to comfort them, you can imagine  the supposed  murmuring and annoyance.

Eventually, he did raise him up-v.43&44- …*_Lazarus, come out. The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strip of linen and a cloth around his face. Take off the  clothes and let him go. -Jesus said*_

And so Back to John 11:40(backed by v.4)

Jesus said, “*Did I not tell you that the if you believe, you will see the glory of God.*

*The key Words here is Believe & Glory.

You know what?…. Those “certain things” that do not add up, don’t  make sense, that are so simple that the Lord could easily do with a fingersnap….YET

And it is not like you‘ve not done the needful- You prayed, fasted, waited, sought that wise counsel, started and are still involving him…YET…

Such was the case of Mary and Martha.

THIS…in fact SUCH Situations are for us to see his #GLORY. He’s saying from our Digest today that- *Just BELIEVE- it wasn’t supposed to make sense or have a smooth sailing because I, the LORD, am going to glorify myself through and in it. 

And like Lazarus, the GLORY will be explosive…Being raised from the dead (and even made  anew as further study makes us understand )

Such will be your #Glory….Just BELIEVE

*The Glory Intro-The Other Sides✨💫*

There is a certain ‘glory’ in our names, skin and colour, outward beauty,  wealth and riches, the prestigious schools we attented, very high personal accomplishments, personal pride as human, certain notable professions, even in our mastery of certain virtues. 

These and more constitute  *Glory- The Other Sides*

The more there can also constitute- the other smaller gods we mentioned in our Digest today.

I recently did a  creative piece on other smaller gods. There is *Takora(a Ghanaian god noted for healing), Kubera(Hindu god of wealth), Oshun(A Yoruba god of  fertility and Juno(A Roman god of Marriage)*

*The last one, Juno, I found out does not exist anymore.The other three though still in existence but are limited in what they can do, lazed with plenty conditionalities, power tussle among themselves and lastly the consequences are inescapable.

Are these the gods and (self-made gods 📌) that you turn to out of haste,desperation and the fleshly desire to succeed at all cost.

As we go into further detail later, remember that the glory(i.e rewards) that they give are not just temporary but comes with severe severe repercussions, some of them with lasting doom for even generations unborn.

The Bible says in  Joshua 24:15-_Now if  it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you’ll serve, whether the gods your fathers  served in the region being the river, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will  serve the Lord._

From the OTM team, Our Prayer is that Our Glory  will not be in the Other things that definitely fades no matter how long it takes but will be in the one true GOD-the Lord of Host, the King of Glory…..Therefre,  Grant us your endruring Grace to seek you and only you all our days.

The Digest- Heb. 1:3

 

On the Digest Today….is one of our focal verse Hebrews 1:3.

*Jesus is being talked about HERE. The NLT version says He is radiating God’s Glory. 

A careful study will tell you that-Jesus isn’t a mirror here who is reflecting God but indeed he is inseparable, one and the same with God reflecting the true self.[As said, showing and reflecting the *exact imprint of the God nature*]. An anlogy to use is Sun and Sunlight(Synonymous)

All these emphasizes the point about the Trinity being true (One God only manifesting in 3 persons for a purpose)

_*Upholding the universe by the Word/Comand of his Power

Scripture interprets Scripture. This backs the Creation story in Genesis about God creating the Whole World with just his Words.

What does it tell you about our utterances. We are  created in his Image& Likeness & so our Words are equally powerful. Let this be your Life-Speak Life and Positivity  at all times.

The Glory Intro(The Glo Intro)✨💫--The Glory in Man

I love this simple one- The Glory of God is the Human Person Alive.❣️*(As God’s Image bearers, his children, his ambassadors, co-heirs et al)

Indisputably, our God is Glorious beyond description. It doesn’t matter whether you believe it or not. It is!!!

However, among other reasons, God’s Glory is and must be seen FOR our salvation and as a true testament that he is indeed the God of all.

To Show that and in God’s own scheme of things, it can’t be done without  his prime Image bearers-Man.

We don’t and can’t even share in his Glory and so to be able to do that he slices a piece of his Glory to us, on us, over and around us and above all in us to able to reflect his Glory over all the earth.

”And so the glory of God in man refers to the divine beauty, character, and presence of God manifested through a person, making them a reflection of His excellence, power, and love, rather than temporary human achievements. It's seen as the Holy Spirit dwelling within, empowering believers to live fearlessly❣️, demonstrate love, exhibit wisdom, and experience peace, ultimately showing God's worth and transforming them into Christ's likeness._”

There is Glory of God in man, on man, all around and all over us….. Our mandate is to fully manifest this Glory for all to see….

*Our Prayer is that May the Glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus which is Infinite,Boundless,Immense,Rich and most Powerful  of all  fully Wrap, Cover and Surround  you Whatever move& decision you make, Wherever place you tread and Whenever  that set or appointed time is to locate You.✨…

…May We Do all the needful that  attract his Glory. It doesn’t matter the weight of our burdens, the distractions all round, the trials and temptations that WILL definitely come our way; we will abide in you and stay glued to you in order to Reflect your Glory all the rest of our days.✨💫🙌🙏*

The Digest Today (Complements to the Glory There)

 On Digest today is  *2 Cor. 3:18-New Living Translation(NLT)*

If you’re saved(Child of God),then his Spirit is in you. Not just in you but at full time work in you. 

One of his works is to (constantly) remove any sinful veil/scale that prevents you from seeing and hearing his voice clearly. That veil that makes sin a norm and godliness an alien.

When God unveils us to the truth, not only do we see clearly but are empowered to will and do reflecting his glorious image.

 Are You reflecting that glorious image even as a Christian so called???…👊

*The Glory Intro(The Glo Intro)✨💫-The God Source*

Intentionally, we say The God Source NOT the God Side or Perspective…..Reason??

This is  because when it comes to #GLORY, there is nothing like the God Side or the human side or any other side.(If your Glory Source is any other than the one true source , then it is fake, deceptive and transient)

Glory emanates from one source and one Source only- GOD. The term Glory is only used in an attempt to describe who God is and all that he’s about, which will definitely be inadequate.

*Our GOD Is Glorious in the entirety of the Word and even beyond description.

The Origin of Glory is from the Hebrew-KAVOD and the Greek-DOXA.

Kavod (כָּבוֹד) is a Hebrew Glory word which goes beyond just the respect& honour but stems from the root word kaved which means the heaviness and weight of something. It conveys that sense of heaviness, real importance and the visible manifestation of God’s glory beyond measure. Biblically, we are  looking at an example of the cloud that filled the tabernacle (1Kings 8:10, 2Chron.5:13-14)

With Kavod, we’re once again reminded of the awestruck nature of God’s majesty who  alone deserve our profound reverence amd worship.

Doxa (δόξα) is the Greek Glory word carrying with it-honor, splendor, praise, and renown. Basically, it looks at God's radiant character or great worth, inherent beauty,power and goodness.(John 1.14, John 17:5, John 11:36)

And so God’s Glory is revealed in  his nature, Character,Presence,Manifestations, Splendour, Weight, Honour.(More on that later)

Beloved, a glimpse of the Glory of God as described is only a foretaste of what’s to happen in heaven and also to give us an incline of his immeasurable power. It’s a Reminder to us to always adore,praise and draw from him at all times-Remember, a slice of his glory  is  all we need  for life.

 As we pleasantly stir around the fragrant theme of #Glory💫 for over the 300days that our Good Lord will endow us with; we will creatively delve into all facets of how to attract his Glory, be his Glory and eventually be Glorious both here on earth and in heaven all with his WORD as the fulcrum. 

 As you know, It is an All Round Devotional and so we will definitely weave it around a lot of creative pieces to get to the theme goal.
