The DIGEST(Mark 3:28)

 On DIGEST today is this hot one -Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit- Mark 3:28*👇🏻

Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is subject to eternal judgment.”

*Context:

In this Mark 3 context, the Pharisees& Scribes had attributed the work of the Holy Spirit [done through Jesus] to the Devil.

Now, they were deeply religious…well steeped in it but they were so lost….Above all, it had led them on the doomfull path of deliberating denying,mocking and attributing what is clearly of God to the  Devil.

*What is it then?….(Blasphemy/Sin against the Holy Spirit)*

Blasphemy in general is to deliberately insult, mock, denounce, show contempt or lack of reverence to God or higher Authority.

Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit is a  Continuous, Deliberate and Hardened Rejection of God’s Grace, His Forgiveness, his Salvation for us (that only in him Salvation lies). This further means you refuse to acknowledge any prompting of the Holy Spirit, denigrating anything of God and have accepted this fate unto death.

*It is this Blasphemy (Sin) against the Holy Spirit that Jesus referred to as…CAN’T BE FORGIVEN.

Lastly, A BIG CAVEAT- this sin ISN’T  just a careless, fleeting thought about such blasphemous acts that crosses your mind but a conscious and hardened state or fate.

In fact, the moment you feel the  need to change, to seek God, to repent or worry about committing such a sin…right there and then you are immuned from this because finally  you’ve recognised him as GOD.(which is all he requires of YOU.)
