(Are You Ready for this ‘Life-Long Thing’)

Anytime you are flouting that rule, law or instruction, most often you most likely know but you still go ahead anyway?….. And sometimes, is it all the time, the consequences are dire?….

Obedience ….Sacrifice 

They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. Romans 1:19

So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired.Romans 1:24

They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. Romans 1:32

Hello and Welcome to Attracting His Glory- the ‘SEEK to BE, To Obey&To Do His Will” How.

Obedience starts from the heart. It is a total Surrender to God that simply says ‘Lord, not my will but yours be done in my Life and so Help me do it because I can’t. ( In fact we all can’t)

We go on to say:
It is a Wholehearted, Willing Submission to God’s Word, Will,Authority and Sovereignty which should FIRST stem from our Love& Faith in him, not out of fear or legalism before the other (physical) motivations come in.

Are we beginning to answer the questions now. As human as we are, definitely the other physical/ material motivation will always be key to why we obey but we must make GOD himself FIRST through it all.

And so from all this, we ask- What makes Obedience Difficult…so hard??….

Is it innate or are there outside factors?

And Why do you Obey?….
(is it the Reward or just for being faithful/diligent?)

Obedience…First what it is not?… It’s not just an outward performance/conformity, technical compliance,doing it as &when you feel like, or even just for the sake of it

(How Guilty We ALL Are Here?…. I’m in it as well)

And that is, we are doing it because God says so, just that…..Our love for him, our faith in him & all we ARE is HIM. ( And as we do all these, DO YOU THINK HE’LL JUST WATCH LIKE THAT…)

Simply, while God does not debar or forbid us from obeying him for what we’ll get from it, he just doesn’t want that to be our prime focus, our chief motivation or main goal.

“Lord, this thing I’m doing for you, if you don’t bless me… “ I know we say it funnily but seriously that shouldn’t be you the Christian. Even as humans, Imagine if for everything your children do for you it is always about what they can get from you. How would you feel?…

As a parent you know their needs and ever ready to provide whether they do or not. However, you just want them to obey and honour you just because you’re their parents. That is all, the rest that comes after is just a bonus.(It is the Same with God)

Hence what he says in Matt 6:33-
Seek ye First the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all others shall be added to you.

Let us be mindful- This is different from our usual supplications, reminding or keeping God to his promise of, ‘Lord, you say in your word that If I do this, you’ll also do, , and sometimes in your vulnerable state, we question why after everything, things are the same….”

*Here we are saying because of your obedience( which comes not from your strength-Phil. 2:13), you feel ENTITLED, you feel that is your basis for the glory/blessing, why the delay, comparing to others…

I did better, i served better, more faithful& so things should automatically align if not he’s not a Good God…Why then Serve, Why then Obey???….*

And oh Obedience can be hard or is hard and is not so much about the outside factors or situations but as sinful man we continue to battle with things of the flesh and Spirit. It’s a forever battle so far as we remain here on earth. BUT we have been redeemed by Christ who has overcome sin, pouring his love into our hearts and so if we rely fully on him, it doesn’t become burdensome anymore.

These verses affirm it all
John 14:15- ‘If you love me, Obey my commandments.’

Jeremiah 7:23: “Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people”

1 Sam. 15:22-‘I delight in Obedeince not sacrifice[paraphrased]

1John 5:3-in fact, this is love for God, to keep his commands and his commands are not burdensome.

Go through Scriptures, at every time it was the heart of obedience that God rewarded, blessed and glorified and not the act itself because that is clearly a given/by-product. Abraham is a classical example.(More abound in Scripture)

Where does Glory come in then…(More verses will do the talking here this time)

*Just as we hinted earlier, do you think that God will watch you like that, go abegging, lack, be destitute and poor, be a ridicule…. (Name it) 

This is our God, a faithful God. A rewarder of those that diligently seek him.

Isaiah 1:19: “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land”

*Beloved, as you OBEY just as described here, you have already attracted God’s Glory. It’s just a matter of when it will manifest. You don’t have to Force or hound God for it…Just Obey and it is yours.

Takes This -Our Obedience warms God Heart on every side and as a result he will do whatever we desire or ask for. (if you evil know how to give god gifts to your children…Matt .7:11)

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great GLORY to my Father. John 15:7-8

Lifter of Your Head & Set High Above-Worthy of emulation and to his Glory*
Deuteronomy 28:1: “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands… the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations.

Longevity, Good Health& Prosper in all things
Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:33

Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go. 1 Kings 2:3

Experience God’s Everlasting love&Relationship
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.
John 14:23,John 15:9-12)

There is so much more glory when we obey.

In attaining/attracting his Glory;Being,Doing and Obeying God’s will is Essential. It starts and Flows from the Heart as enabled by him because we are his Children and out of that it becomes a Given that he will bless and glorify himself through us. So we say, Lord,Just help us to be obedient to you at all times.
