Prov.19:21- _Many are the plans in a man's heart,but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails_
As humans,we wander off a lot. Most importantly,as spiritual beings, we stray from our God-given purpose.

This is why *WE NEED THIS...A time of SOLITUDE*...A time of Retreat...A time of Waiting...Making time to go to a quiet place in order to renew,refill& realign our ways back to God.

Lamentations 3:25-28 _'...The Lord is good...to the one who seeks him,it is good to wait patiently on the Lord...Let him sit down alone in silence,for the Lord has laid it on him_

*Do we make time for this?*...Not with the hustle& bustle of this life...but if in all these we do make time for our bodies, businesses&other things of interest...Why not the source of our lives?... *How we normalise this.*

We live in a world where struggles,wordly pleasures& self aggrandisement have blinded us from connecting to the very source that make it all happen- *GOD.*

Oh yes,God did not send his son...why send his son for this... No, not at all, He did not send his son....

Before i get any accusation for blasphemy,let me quote the whole verse *For God did not send his son into the world to CONDEMN the world, but that the WORLD through him might be SAVED.(John 3:17)*

Of course, this is coming from the back of the world's most popularly quoted scripture John 3:16- _For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son..._

Some years ago, right after reading John 3:16, i decided to read on and when i got to the v.17, i had to stop because it was equally powerful.

The whole John chapter 3 is about  the encounter Nicodemus, a Pharisee had with Jesus. After seeing the light in Jesus, Nicodemus 'nicodemusly' went to Jesus at night to find out how he could be saved. Jesus then took his time to expain  the born again concept to him which included the v.17...

The Jews at the time were expecting a messiah who will come, judge& totally condemn the Gentiles. Jesus corrected that falsehood with *For God did not send his son to condemn the world but...

The message in this is that simple-Christ came to save&not to condemn anyone.
The message of Christ(God's word) convicts,rebukes, corrects but never by its  stretch, does it CONDEMN*
This should be our message,Our lives,talk,nature,attitude, posture for that was what Christ exuded.

Many Christians by their posture alone are very damning and condemning. This is just by virtue of a God who mercifully sliced a piece of his righteousness for us. And for some such righteousness are self-imposed only to look it..

Take this not from me but from God's word-

Any Message that seeks to Condemn you making you unworthy to be saved is not from God...REJECT IT.

Accept the one that convicts,rebukes,corrects,teaches and draws you to Christ(Salvation)

SO I SAY:

A MATTER OF FAITH(Heb. 11)

The christian life begins with *Faith*. You are believing a God you've never seen yet believe he knows &can do it all.
This is a quote about Faith from last friday's message- *A Matter of Trust*.

*What were we not told right from infancy*:There is a big God up there who is all powerful,all knowing&even here.He can do ALL things&we are supposed to be in church,behave someway 'bi' to worship him.

As if even as kids,we believed all that. They were too big to believe&we did so because Daddy says so. _Okay,if he could do all things,why was mummy struggling so hard to pay my fees_' We wondered.

It is *A Matter of Faith.*...it may have been a loose faith at the time but we're fully believing a parent noone told us they were.

We didn't need to be told.They are our parents! *That natural incline God put in us clearly* says it all aside the relationship built.(Well,you can point out those exceptions.It doesn't negate this point)

That is the same with God& the Christian life.

Faith is not about facts or evidential proof before... *Faith is a Substance of Hope&the evidence of things not seen yet fully  believe that it is,will be which truly BE.(Heb11, James 2:14)*

*...Which truly be*-That is the beautiful thing about Faith. _What is Faith without_ works. *What is the point believing in the 'unbelievable' if nothing will show in the end*
(Yes,we're supposed to believe in him whether he does it or not but regardless we know he is a faithful God.)

So Abraham had faith in God,went to a place he didn't know and then what?...nothing becomes of him. That was not the story.(Read it in Gen.12...)

Our lives begin with faith.Faith in God as the baseline& then faith in other things follow. With time,he expects us to *trust* him as Abraham did with Isaac later on.

It runs through- *A matterof trust & A matter of faith once again.*It is we, humans who tend to look at the current circumstance.

I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN(@jmettle Inspired)

I was watching Joe Mettle's rendition of the old spiritual song 'This is the Air i breathe' & i felt sooo GOOD. Like we say- in the spirit._I felt really good with these words falling out... *I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN*

And that takes us to the message for today. What are you thinking?... I want to go to Heaven because life is too hard& i want to avoid the troubles thereof. You may not be so wrong when we look at it this way...

I am sure when i 'snap out' of the above song& you ask me on a 'normal' day whether i would, my answer will be different.

ooh it is not like that oo.As for heaven de3 we all want to go but you see i need to enjoy life some, get a fat paying job,get married,enjoy the sex,do some travels& also make an impact here on earth(might even be different from fulfilling your actual purpose)...Then,we make it to heaven_ 

I want to go to Heaven NOT because Life is hard,not because of its troubles or that the christian life seems boring. I want to go to Heaven just because I want to experience God more and more and more.



This is exactly what i felt when i got engrossed in this old powerful song.   I couldn't stop...the feeling was inexpressible.And this is the 'meat'/pivot of today's message.That the main aim of our going to heaven is to Glorify GOD. After all, that is what we will do there(Rev. 4).The other reasons are good but should be secondary.

On September 6,2016, i asked a title question about the christian life on my 'On This  morning(OTM)' -*Isn't it Boring?*

This was my answer
Beloved,finding out who we are& what we are wired to do is the answer to this seemingly believable question_I don't think the christian life is boring 'anymore'.I think about why God created us,what he originally designed us for- personal relationship&to Glorify him.You feel whole because you're connecting back to your SOURCE_

Will it be boring to say or do the same thing over and over and over?...Not when you are in the presence of the one you love. So sweet as a honeycomb.

SPARE ME A MOMENT,LET'S DO THIS(2)*

We did Spare me...(1). This is part 2. Thanks for Sparing me a moment. Now,let's do this:

*Wasn't it last week that it occurred to you that there seem to be a state of despondency in the christian fraternity.*Then others like Syncretism, Too 'many' Compromises, Normalisation& Conformity also came in.*_(Forgive me for the 'brofo'/english,it will be broken down later)

Spare me another moment,let's do this:
Even you, as people will say, you have started compromising, following everything that comes,you keep changing your stance on that issue everytime something crops up.* You haven't noticed right or..?

First,let me bring out these exceptions:
-Certain things christians thought were sinful but got to know are NOT according to Scripture.
-Becoming all things to all people to save *some*(As Paul said in 1 Cor. 9:19-)

*Despondency* is the state of low spirits from loss of hope,courage or dejection.
(Religious) *Syncretism* is an attempt to blend or reconcile two or more opposing beliefs so that they can agree.

Having cleared all doubts i believe, let's now look at this:
Of course, there is a *thin line* in doing all these. This is why we need these 3-Word,Holy Spirit&Prayer.

The focus here is on *PRAYER*
Personally, the issues raised is something God has laid on my heart for sometime now. It is a growing concern for christians today to be watchful of the lives they live,certain  path we chart, ways we also follow.(Rom. 12)

I know i may not be speaking to everybody but i believe it's to that one person who will rise up for many others to see the way,be reawakened&follow.

There are a lot of extremely trying times in the offing. (2 Tim.3:1-5) This is why we have to PRAY!
- PRAY THAT AS CHRISTIANS WE WILL LEAD THE WAY...LEAD MANY TO THE LIGHT&NOT RATHER CONFORM.

- THAT EVEN IN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TIMES,WE WOULD BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM TILL THE END.

Luke 21:36 _But stay awake at all times,praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

SO I SAY:
SPARE ME A MOMENT,LET'S DO THIS...JOIN ME IN THIS CEASELESS NEEDFUL PRAYER.

And so i read once again the passage above&it spoke to me differently like i've never read it before.

A MATTER OF TRUST

One of the cardinal factors in every relationship is TRUST.

For many marriages&the kind of relationship WE keep, trust plays a crucial role.
Mostly,when you tell someone to trust you,it doesn't only rest by word of mouth,it must be based on something- knowledge,evidence or experience.

This is different from *Faith* which we will look at next week in this context.( *A matter of Faith* )

We are in this together& after all these years if you don't TRUST me,then what is the  point staying in this. Let's call it quit. His girlfriend asserted.

Whether the person is justified or not will depend on what went on in their relationship. We are not doing the much anticipated _Relationship Series_ so i end here.

However,same cannot be said of our Relationship with God.Indeed, for everyone,the christian life begins with *Faith*. You are believing a God you've never seen yet believe knows &can do it all.

However,as we take this big leap of faith, verily verily our God proves himself.In fact he convinces us exceedingly beyond our imaginations.(Eph.3:20)

Then, as we move on,it then becomes *a Matter of TRUST for a lot of the things* he brings our way.A key example is God's continual deliverance of Israel from Egypt yet they were moaned-Exodus 16.

A sweet lady friend of mine told me this: Although i  am not *used to* troubles& hardships as some can be devastating; I've learnt to TRUST God in it all.
I look back at the many troubles God has delivered me from,some even bigger& i wonder, why am i here smiling& embracing worry&pity?
More so,he has never failed me.  Sometimes, it doesn't go my way.I don't mind because it is always for my Good.

Beloved,it is simple. Do this- Learn to trust God. He has done enough to prove to YOU that he never fails. Be in Right-standing with him,Surrender it all&TRUST HIM!

SO I SAY:
A KEY ELEMENT IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE- IS  *A MATTER OF TRUST* IN GOD.

*Lord, I want to enjoy my life...the christian life for that matter but it looks like it is about not doing certain things & living a certain kind of strict,principled& No nonsense life. Why???

*Lord, I want to... I really want to HELP but she is so undeserving. Don't let me explain...Lord,you know.

*Lord, I want to finally give my life to you but i don't seem to have to the courage to...In fact, i am gripped with Fear...I just don't know.

*Lord, I want to forgive. I know i wrong others but hear me here-Why do they keep on taking advantage &expecting me to forgive all the time yet they are unforgiving. And what do you say Lord, 70X7...Geez!

*Lord, i want to be in your house serving you faithfully but my life is full of guilt. More so, i'm always reminded within & by the many around.

*Lord, I want to help organise that promising concert with my expertise but frankly the 'ahot3dotcom' fellas are so annoying...Goodness Gracious God!
( Ahot3dotcom. as described here are those who are overly enthused about something making it annoying hence put others off )

Beloved,sometimes,we are willing BUT these human factors consume us hence failing to live that pleasing life.

I won't go into it one by one.(maybe another time) but i believe these solutions are still solid.

* RID YOUR MINDS FROM ALL THOSE HINDRANCES!
* STOP THE TALK& EXCUSES!
* STOP LOOKING AT PEOPLE
*STOP FOCUSING AT THE SITUATION

*STOP LOOKING AT YOUR WEAKNESSES&THOSE JUSTIFIABLE HUMAN FACTORS THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE THERE.

RATHER,
* START DOING WHAT GOD EXPECTS OF YOU TODAY.
*GIVE YOUR WEAKNESS TO HIM FOR STRENGTH...YOUR ANNOYANCE FOR DELIGHT...YOUR FEAR FOR COURAGE.

It is difficult but it becomes easy when you Focus on his Grace which is all you need&always there for you.

Purpose in your heart to rid yourself from those entanglements&heed to the voice speaking to you today. For God earnestly works in us to seek him&to please him.(Phil.2:13).

 I tell you there is no better enjoyment& fulfilment than a life ordered by God.

MEDITATE! (2 Corinthians 1:3-11 )

Another edition of Meditate is here and this time we fall on 2 Corinthians 1:3-11.

V.3 Praise to the God of All Comfort
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

V.4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

V.5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

V.6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.

ARE YOU PLAYING WITH OR GOING THROUGH THE FIRE?

Good morning.Let's open our hearts to this one.

The young boy's last encounter with fire was when he was whisked away by the mother after attempting to touch that fire.This time he was alone in the room holding the matches stick about to strike. The mother's quick  reminder flashed through his mind but he ignored.

The next thing we saw he was outside playing. The next was a smoke emitting from their house which took the timely intervention of a neighbour.

I pause here& ask: As christians &as a people,Are we playing with fire like this little child?

Weeks after that,the child who fearfully sat far    from the mother as she roasted the grasscutter couldn't help but ask: 'Mummy,why are you playing with fire when you clearly told us not to?'
The mother answered...


Beloved,i pause& ask the title question once again-Do you go through or play with fire?

This message should have come last friday but i could make time for it today. Thankfully, it meets with the Atomic gas fire explosion which makes one ask-

So are we playing as a nation?...Are we playing with fire?...why do we have to be reactive all the time as a nation& as a people.

Such is our christian life. We play a lot& i am no exception. There are Unending examples relating to our Prayer life,relation with people,clear signs he/she is  not the one, the clear direction your stinking attitude is heading yet....

The bad NO the worst is when we tend to spiritualise it. ooh i know with faith it's possible...it can be done. No,the faith of God doesn't work in that situation  where you continually take your work for granted,almost always late& you expect favour& promotion.

Rather it is when you do your work wholeheartedly, to the best of your abilities yet unappreciated& facing challenges-  *That is what can be described as Going Through the Fire*

As we put our faith in God who enables us to put it into works through his Grace,we leave the rest to him because we trust&know HE NEVER FAILS!

Such is when we go *through the fire*. He says:
1 Peter 1:7-so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;...(Also make time to read 1 Cor. 3:13)

Playing with fire is as described in Prov. 6:27-28
"Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared?"

SO I SAY:
AS THE MOTHER ANSWERED 'WE DON'T PLAY WITH FIRE TO BE BURNED,WE GO THROUGH FIRE TO BE REFINED!'

Powerful passage& an interesting one with verse 13. It only calls for the title today.

QUESTIONS (PART 6)

This is where we ask simple,relevant,teasing yet interesting questions for you to ponder&draw out meaningful answers yourself as inspired by your maker.

A week today we looked at: Questions(Part 5) which touched  on: Everyone wanting to be,Too Eager to make it, Fake Trends,Discontentment& Failing to wait on God's time._Thanks for the feedback.

The Questions as we turn the tables:
*What are your Goals&Aspiration???.... Do you even have one???

*If you do, how well have you treated them over the years?

*Why do you keep procrastinating...tickling yourself with so called tangible excuses???

*Was it not last year that you should fulfilled that goal?...Okay,So what has happened to it now as we speak???

*Why are you almost always reactive to situations...Something has to happen before you....???(continue for me)

*How daring are you?....How passionate are you about your dreams or goals???

*Are you able to infect others with it???

*With how laid back &unserious you are,do you expect to carry along the team members???

*As a team member,assess your commitment to that worthy course from the onset,midstream&NOW???

*With all these, Do you expect others to patronise your products or services especially when they see a better one or a united team out there???

*Ask yourself-Though I don't want to rush in life but maybe i am not pushing enough???

*The last time you exuded some passion,showed some dedication&maintained that focus; you knew what happened??? (Why not go back to it???)

*It is so difficult...Yes. Don't you know it has always not been easy???...Why don't you Purpose today to live that dream& live it right...Above all, to keep counting FULLY on GOD'S GRACE???

*Have you realised that anytime you have made it, it was because you heed to that point just above this one???

So these are the QUESTIONS for today clearly bothering on: Goals&Aspirations (PURPOSE), Its Pursuit,How daring, committed&serious we are,How prepared we are to do the painful yet needful to get there.

Let CHRIST be the basis as you answer them.(Prov.16:3,Phil. 3:12-17)

'WHAT HE EXPECTS OF US'(Luke 10:30-37)

Ewurakua,Ewurama and Ewuraa met separately aside the church's own to study the word,discuss bothering questions on the christian front& pray.

For the past 2 weeks, they had not met together&so they were glad they finally did.The topic as Ewurama had posted on their 'E' group was WHAT HE EXPECTS

Just when Ewurakua was about to open to that Bible passage after the pleasantries&routine opening prayer,Ewuraa cut in.

She said 'Hmm, do you know i was here last 2 weeks?...hmm,this topic eee,it brings to mind...Anyway,So you remember that annoying neighbour who chooses when to greet or speak to you 'no'.When i was coming, i had this deep incline to speak to her but i ignored._

' I came&found noone but couldn't resist that strong  incline too. As if being pursued, I drove home to meet Sister Yaa  seated right in front  of the building. As i stepped out,she quickly rushed to me, apologised & started what i call the confessions of a depressed married woman.'

Ewurakwa comes in ' ooh so that is why you went to the Pastor&later the psychologist last week. I see...i think i will also share this. You know Ogra had been my childhood friend&though i had been entertaining some of her bad habits,I didn't know  it influenced my teenage girl._

_Well, not until the last chat i saw that could have spelt doom. I wanted to seriously give it to her but then i remembered the last discussion we had about Our Words._

_I still went to her& registered my displeasure as well as straighten the relationship.She just called an hour ago to tell me of how well i treated the issue had helped to look at her life once again._

Ewurama then concluded&said ' Ladies,it looked like God has through your stories thoroughly exhausted the topic.Listening  to you,i get why i was led to Pray for some people last week._

As they closed that eventful meeting, Ewurama told them of how their small regular meetings had been an example for many to emulate in that vicinity.

SO I SAY:
TAKE NOTE OF HOW THE STORIES ABOVE CARRY A LOT OF LESSONS OF WHAT HE(GOD) EXPECTS OF US IN OUR DAILY LIVES.

*GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS*(PART 2) (MATT. 4:17-19)

On how to avoid Going through the motions:

*As said, First, be prepared to Endure the motions

*Next is to Find your Purpose&let me just say be sure of it.

I say that because a lot of people by virtue of a lot of human factors  take their calling for granted or even *become used to it hence the lack of interest or enthusiasm.

Some of the factors include life challenges,issues of familiarity, surrounding environment among others.This bog them down hence a lack of interest eventually derailing them from their course.

If you find yourself here, Stop the unseriousness& Start dealing with it now. God brought you here for a purpose.*

*Let's look at Finding your purpose proper. This is what you totally love,enjoy and never see it as *work.* The only way to know this is to go to you maker&develop that relationship.Then,who you are &what you are made for will be fully&freely  downloaded to you.

*Lastly, be fervently prepared to work towards it. Remember, it never gets easy  just because that is what you are called to do&love.God's Grace is already given-Access it& Work it out to get there.

The beautiful thing is that through the sweat&hassle,you only enjoy through it all.For you,it is not going through the motions but living that life of PURPOSE.

This even extends to the things of God. When we see it as *Spiritual* as it is &not as a *Religion*, it is always fulfilling.We can't always predict what to expect from God& that makes him fun especially when we know whatever he does is always for our Good.It never gets boring when we see it this way.

I end by saying Going through the motions can be easy if you are carefree about life& ANYTHING goes for you.
However, It can be  a big headache & a strive if you know your calling,stay true to it knowing that God brought you here for a purpose.

SO I SAY:
DON'T LIVE YOUR LIFE GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS RATHER LIVE A LIFE OF PURPOSE.
