Some of the things that come to mind when #Glory is mentioned are #Honour, #Respect and #Dignity.
Together they make a #Glorious Relationship with God, with one another and with that Siginificant Other.
A look in the mirror never deceives. (James 1:23-25)
For everyone of us, we know where we stand with a lot of people in our lives.
Those who Respect us, Look down on us, Hold us in very high esteem, those who are lukewarm towards us and those who we are not so sure of because….
Beloved, whatever will make you not to be sure about how someone values you in any serious (committed) relationship is enough red flag 🚩 on its own.
*Do your Views matter?….Are they carefully considered?….Are you made to feel and believe that they do?…Is it a regular pattern in the relationship???
*Is he always the domineering force who wants to take charge & exert control all in the name of masculinity?…….or Is she one who fakes submission outside but a totally different beast inside and vice versa??
*Are you a key stakeholder in very crucial important decisions in thier lives?…(They might not be able to share it all,but their engagements show how they value you and your mind)
*Verbal Abuse at the slightest reveals who they are and their perception of you especially when it’s recurrent. Hmm, Physical Abuse and the forms of it are the very least to say.
And so staying in a dishonorable relationship is not only suffocating but breeds deep seated hurt and contempt only waiting to explode.
In sum, Respect in every Relationship is dependent on how we treat and value each other’s feelings, thoughts, boundaries,differences and total being all in how God & his Word says we should.
And he simply says- In all Sincerity, Treat/Do unto others as you would want them to do to you. (Luke 6:31)
Every Glorious Relationship(_platonic, Intimate,professional and more_) which is Christ centered thrives with this godly principle at the center.
And so let’s get back into looking into the mirror- “_Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like…_(James 1:23-)
1 Peter 2:17-“_Show respect for all people [treat them honorably], love the brotherhood [of believers], fear God, honor the king__
