'Q&A ON THE MUSIC SERIES'(PART 1)

Gradually, we are inching towards the end of the Music Series. Therefore, this morning I bring you what I call the (Q)uestions&(A)nswers on the Music Series.

I know for some of you this series wouldn't be complete without tackling these:

*WHY MOST OLD SONGS ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN THE CONTEMPORARY ONES???

I'm not sure this is in doubt.Take note I didn't say ALL. Do I need to research?

Hymns, Psalms as we know are powerful. Powerful here means
-Pleasing/honouring God
-Meeting the  spiritual needs of his people&other aspects. 

This is confirmed in Col. 3:16
'Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly teaching and admonishing one another...singing psalms,hymns &spiritual songs with thankfulness  in your heart to God'.

What is considered Spiritual songs (Gospel) is the chief concern here. I believe the old songs are powerful because of these:
-A  (Direct) Message from God.
-Backed by the HOLY SPIRIT.
-A life of PURITY.

* CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC - IS IT HONOURING GOD?

I must say i enjoy some of the contemporary songs very well(Spiritual).

However,  i 'BELIEVE' a lot of them don't honour God hiding under the different genres&modern styles. The above reasons can be easily ascribed here. 

The positive is that it draws a lot of the Youth (including unbelievers). I believe it can be contemporary yet honours God. (Let's check that very well)

*WHAT ABOUT THE LIVES OF MUSICIANS???

Hmmm, this question eee -that life of PURITY/HOLINESS right?

Without a doubt, MOST Musicians(instrumentalists) are noted for ungodly living. Agean, No need for any research  here. Sexual immorality,idolatry,  envy,pride,coveting et al.

How do you expect your song to make the needed impact?
Sadly, some think their songs are really  just by virtue of it being a  hit,money&wealth gained.

Though 'unseen' but the songs of those musicians who live holy lives are seen by the SPIRITUALITY of the song churned out.This is determined by how well you're in tune with the spirit or relationship with God.
