Of course,this is where we ask simple,relevant,teasing yet interesting 'questions' for you to ponder&draw out meaningful answers yourself as inspired by your maker.

Merry Christmas to you as you celebrate. However,
for the *ON THIS MORNING team here*,we help you reflect on the year&what to expect as you lift your head up to the coming year.
The Questions Now:
*How was your Year?...How would you describe it??*

*Did you have a plan for the year?*

*If you didn't have a plan,how did you go through the year...Has it been the norm?...*

Continuing... *Is it that anything goes?...Is that the way to go because we always plan& even the best plans fail?*

Then This- *How strong or involving was God in all your affairs,plans&Life in general?*

*So what were your plans if you had?...Were they achieved?...What were the obstacles, challenges& difficulties?*

*Were the difficulties due to your own actions/inactions or they just had to come ?...How was your Response?*

*Do you do introspection(Assess,Evaluate) from time to time with your life?...OR Do you always wait for something to happen before you do this?*

*What are you holding on to... Are you going to forgive or reconcile because it is the year end& there say we are all to start the new year anew?*

*Is that the approach or will that be the approach for things in your life every year?*

*So what is your mentality going into 2018?*

*Did you only see the bad in the year...was it all about the negatives?*

*What are the lessons,positives,negatives,motivations going into the next year?*

*As you look back,is there not a great cause to be grateful to God&forever trust in him no matter what?*

*As you daily commit yourself into God's hands,What about a daily to do list to guide you for the day?*

*What about starting or having a daily review/evaluation of your life at the end of the day?*

*As you do this-What about  checking those habits,friends,irrational decisions&the many others?*

*How committed were you to that course,group,work?...Are you going to do same,change your ways or commit more to them?....Perhaps a new idea will do or need to reshape the old plan?*

Beloved,these are questions God laid on my heart to ask you as we prepare to crossover from '17 to '18.

Don't let anyone tell you that Serving God,committing to him,making plans or resolutions(daily,monthly,yearly) is bad.

Why don't you use your own ways,be smart&other 'ways'?... After all,we make them every year&nothing happens pointing to your current state.

Beloved,you are where you are NOW because God has brought you here. And this is because you decided to commit your life,your 'faulty' plans &all to him.

Things don't just happen!...You don't just achieve it!... _*It still comes with a plan...one that should be authored,ordered& perfected by God only.*_

_*All you have to do is continue to open your heart,ask him to help you serve him  faithfully even as always rely on his ever available GRACE to start,do and achieve his purposes for your life.*_

Hello People,we thank God for how far he has brought us. *It is Christmas. Wishing you all a Joyous Christmas&a Fulfilling New Year.*

Today,let's do something from my ever dependable aid- *Our Daily Bread* Here we go with this powerful one:

_Approaching the first christmas after her husband died, our friend Davidene wrote a remarkable letter in which she pictured what it might have been like in heaven when Jesus was born on earth._

_"It was what God always knew would happen,"she wrote. "The three were one,and he had agreed to allow the fracturing of his precious unity for our sake. Heaven was left empty of God the son."_

_As Jesus taught and healed people on earth,he said, "I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me...For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and i will raise them up at the last day."(John 6:38,40)_

_When Jesus was born in Bethlehem,it was the beginning of his mission on earth to demonstrate God's love and give his life on the cross to free us from the penalty and power of sin._

Above all, *The Love shown& the Life given us through his son though undeserving* are the key things he wants us to Remember,share&live out.

Then,hold on...Do you Remember:
_Those same messages about the same birth of Christ from the same Bible in use now.It made you reflect on the true meaning of this festive season aside all the real fun._

_The Reflections,its meaning&being at the year end made many decide to change...Sometimes it starts through revealing of family secrets at their gatherings or resurrecting of old wounds...In the end, is there a real change or..._

_That long awaited visit to see those Auntes,uncles,cousins&other family friends for that reason you had to behave. The journey itself was something to relish_

_Clad in their special Christmas wear,the car was spiced with a lot of christmas tunes,with the children enjoyably worrying their parents moving all over in the vehicle be it private or commercial.And there, we see many free up themselves,make new friends, opening up the golden door to help another in need._

_Then, for all the good reasons,you could make a fortune out of Christmas...A lot of goodies..People will be giving 'buronya ade3 saa' (gifts,cash..)...Santa was really in town..._ NOW???...Where are they?

*REMEMBER,JESUS WHO STILL SAVES IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.*

*SO I SAY:*

*This God Looks at the Heart Thing 'Koraa'...*(Part 2)

It is here again& today i turn the heat on *_those fake God Looks at the heart people._*(Of course,they're not going to be spared)_

It must be said they can be very annoying esp. when they're truly faking it sparking this whole debate. _(Well,the difficult part is we shouldn't judge them since we ain't saints.)_

Last week, we looked at these ones:
*So,why do you JUST look at her&outrightly Judge/condemn her?*
Today,it is on those who are pulling this fake card using the biblical mantra- _'God Looks at the Heart'_

*Do you understand what it means to say God looks at the heart?...What is in your heart?...Is it pleasing to God?...Then,...honestly,...Your Life?*

Beloved,many hide behind this God looks at the heart thing-intentionally miscontrue it in order to live the  lives they've always wanted&
still want to call themselves christians. _(In Twi brief- Wo p3 wade3 ay3 a,wo se Awurade hw3 akoma mu)_

Yes,those who are in this are mostly 'christians' but do remember what God says in Rev. 3:16, For the lukewarm,he'll spit out of his mouth.

_Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.(Psalm 44:21)_

When the Lord told Samuel not to look at David's appearance&the height of his stature, for he(God) looks at the heart;it was basically because David had this heart:
*_A broken,contrite,pure&yearning heart...one that always sought God even in his worst state._
*_One that was not receptive or did not harbour those stuff that led to pain,bitterness&rancour_  * _One that was prepared to do God's will._(No wonder he was after God's heart)

Can you also say same about what is in your heart&the life it makes you live???
Can you  boldly stand before God&joyfully present your life to God&say Lord look at my heart,with all that is in it-I WORSHIP YOU!

Remember, in Jeremiah 17:10 _"I, the LORD, search the heart,I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways..._

*Stop deceiving yourself! Stop Faking it! Stop using it as an anthem!*
*I must say if you are frequently found of using this verse or been often accused of it or have to always use it as a point of defence;then check your life as a christian.(Something may be wrong someway.)*

_Proverbs 21:2 “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.”_
Always let the Lord weigh your heart& in this time his Holy Spirit convicts us all the time.

Considering how far you've gone,you may need this prayer of David in Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart,O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (GOD IS READY FOR YOU!)

*This God looks at the heart thing koraa...Stop faking it,Live the life!*

*WHAT ARE WE(YOU) HAVING FOR CHRISTMAS?*

Christmas is all about *Love,Giving,Sharing,Togetherness/Bonding,Reunion&Time for fun &Merrymaking.*

The Question is simple...isn't it?... _What are you(we) having for Christmas?_

But just before you answer that...Do you remember these:

_The planting of that Christmas Tree in your home or even that small neighbourhood where it was well decorated with gifts&presents with all those shiny bits. Then, there is sharing&wrapping of gifts. And most importantly, *we were told of what Christmas is all about aside the fun.* It was such an unforgettable time with family&the many others which has been with us till today._

_Those times when we won't have all the fun,partying&do the travels alone but mummy&daddy will *consciously* look out for someone who is in real need&'package' something worthwhile to give them. Something they treasure&go a long way to change their lives._

And i'm sure you remember your times with this one:
_The Promise to receive your Special Christmas Attire(Buronya Atade3) & be treated to those rare kind of foods(Jollof with chicken-Akok) nam)  just because of this special festive season?_(Not the same now right?)

And so there was always something to look forward to with Christmas.

Is there anything to look forward to now?...Has all the fun finished... _anigye3 no asa ohn?)_ Not to talk of what it really means.

And so there was something that Christmas made us do whether we really understood it,was fake or genuine.
This is where i believe we need to make this central in the theme: 
*_She will bear a son,and you shall call his name Jesus,for he will save his people from their sins_*

At the end of the day,this should be the basis of the celebration all the time.

*SO I SAY WITH ALL THESE:*
_*THE SIMPLE  QUESTION STILL REMAINS- WHAT ARE WE...erhmm YOU HAVING FOR CHRISTMAS???*_

*BE LIKE A LITTLE CHILD,DON'T BE LIKE A LITTLE CHILD(PART 3)*

We conclude on this aspect of the series. _Be like a little child,Don't be like a little child._(Infants,Babies)
The part 1&2 looked at many reasons why _'To be like or Not To be like a little child._

We continue from there:
*Be Like a Little Child* In Matt. 11:25-26- _I praise you Father...because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned,and revealed them to *little children.*_
And in Matt.21:16-17- ....Jesus replied saying- _From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise._

Little ones right from our tradition have been said to *see things*. I guess these verses affirms or to put it right,it was revealed to them from above.

I don't doubt it because of once again the state of their heart-How delicate,pure,innocent,receptive they are. They are known to say the TRUTH&nothing else.(Of course before they are *practically* soiled with the sins of this world.)

And such a heart is what God seeks for.When Jesus spoke there,it wasn't just literally to the little ones. That if today you&i will have such a childlike heart,
these hidden vital mysteries shall be revealed unto us.

Remember,one of the things we need in this Life is *Revelation* &this is what it takes to.With such a life,our mouths will always be full of PRAISE. *Be Like a Little Child*

*Don't be Like a Little Child.*
In Hebrews 5:13-14
_Anyone who lives on milk,being still an infant,is not acquainted with teaching about righteousness...But Solid food is for mature,who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil._

I concentrate on Maturity.Our God brought each& everyone here for a particular purpose. One that can't be achieved by only sucking milk,crawling or attempting to walk.

In 1Peter 2:2,our God affords _newborn babies in Christ to crave for pure spiritual milk_... *And this is the important part*... _so that you may  *grow up* in your salvation._

Let's grow up beyond the 'physical' & mind of a child  but in heart&then grow in spirit towards achieving his purpose for making us. Life is all about achieving our Purpose.It only begins with a little child... *Don't be or remain like a little child in this*

*YOU...BE CAREFUL OF THIS:*
In Matt 18.& Luke 17,Jesus says it _'it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied round his neck *than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin*_

I've seen&interacted with quite a number of people in my years of life. In this, *i've always loved &adored those whose behaviour shows that tender,pure&genuineness of HEART. (Such people are more than wonderful*)
Note this is entirely different from being gullible or immature like a little child.

In all, God wants us to be like a little child only in Heart with all its purity but does not want us to stay as immature&of little use like a little child.

*SO I SAY:*

*THE THING WITH CLOSE PEOPLE(Pt.3-The Work/Professional Side)*_

I did *The thing with Close People(Pt.1&2)*- being family,friends,mentors,where we looked at how difficult it is to be straight&sincere with them&also to draw them to Christ.

I didn't plan to continue with Part 3 but with the help of my guide,it prompted me to  the work/professional side with close ones.How difficult?..easy?...how should it be?

In Gen.29:14-30,the story is told of Jacob who fled from home to be with his *Uncle*,Laban. He said- _Just because you are my relative,should you *work* for *nothing*,tell me what your wages will be?_
In place of that,Jacob opted for the younger Rachel to marry. *_Why will i not give her to you,a relative instead to another man_*
Jacob had to work another 7yrs because according to his *uncle* the older should marry first. *And so Jacob unduly did a double Job.*

Working for close people ha?...
It has always been seen as *not* advisable. Why?...they won't do it well, you can't say it. On the other hand,they are taken for granted with  compromises here&there.

It is BUSINESS& the essence of professionalism/doing the right thing is lost.

Again,like i dealt with in Pt.1&2,it all balls down to the relationship.It isn't just about the usual cordiality but truly how sincere &truthful will you be if as close as you are,you embark on a venture.

Should the money go elsewhere if your best friend,sibling,work &church member have the expertise &can do far better?

What's better...you know each other well,you can easily make sacrifices together _like no salary in case of losses or crucial times. This, you won't get with an outsider.Plough back Profit all to make the business grow._

It would have been the best&most advisable if *we* will go with an open&pure mind eschewing all the negative,lacklutre&cheat mentality associated.

HOWEVER, *i am all for it* if because of certain familiarities,conflict of interest,mere uncomfortability,& poor relations, one can't work with close people.

Per our thinking,experience &the world we live in, it is still not advisable not to work with close/familiar people. Some people thrive well on that&for me if the relationship,certain understanding& above factors ain't right,then do it. _('M3 ni nii s3m',it is most painful,anyone would prefer an outsider)_

As Christians,will we allow *Familiarity to continue to breed Contempt*-Why don't we truncate it NOW. Why do a poor job,cheat,act unconcerned just because he is a close person. Shouldn't it be the other way round???...For those in it,LET'S BE THE CHANGE AGENTS NOW!
'Whatever you do,do it with all your heart as unto the Lord.(Col.3:23)

SO I SAY:
*THIS IS THE THING WITH CLOSE PEOPLE-The Work/Professional Side.*

*This God Looks at the Heart Thing 'Koraa'...*(Part 1)

Hmm, the title alone should tell you of how this on &off subject have suffocated not only me but many for years.

_...but the Lord Looks at the Heart._(1 Sam. 16:7)
And so there is no way you can deny the above is not in the *Holy Scriptures.*

*So,why do you JUST look at her&outrightly Judge/condemn her?...Who are you to?...Is that the way to go?*

*For you,Do you understand what it means to say God looks at the heart?...What is in your heart?...Is it pleasing to God?...Then,...honestly,...Your Life?*

Beloved,this seemingly thorny subject is not one- sided as many tend to see it. It is a two-sided coin as pointed out above. Indeed,it does get tiring to see this go back and forth &doesn't seem to end.

What happens is that some lose  their faith for being condemned& mostly those 'spiritual' either force a change or move out to where they think can belong.

First,the way to go:
_Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.(Psalm 44:21)_
For those who find themselves in the faith&waxing stronger,the verse in Psalm should be a guide.

I'm sure you can count the many times you were wrong when you accused her *just because* of her new look.

It *may* be a sign of certain bad changes but you should remember what God told  Samuel about David 'Do not look on his appearance...but the Lord looks at the heart.'(1Sam 16:7)

We are Christians which means we have the Holy Spirit.To know someone's mind,it can only be through his spirit.This is what the Holy spirit help us to know.(1Cor.2:11)

And i can say many a times we only  rely on sight,mere feelings,sheer annoyance &mostly our past experience in minstry. Do you know why God is still with some because aside all the bad that is seen, *they still yearn for God which is unseen.*

And such a heart is what God wants& *he is waiting on you* to stop the condemnation&help them to fully get back to him.

God does not reveal certain things about  another so that we can judge and condemn them no matter how shocking it is,how sinful&defensive they are. It is for us to correct&rebuke in love. No individual has the right to condemn another.

In fact,your spiritual standing (maturity) should even tell you to approach &deal with those  _God looks at the heart people_ no matter how fake with *LOVE.*
So?....����

Last week,we did Part 7 where we looked at those (little) negative changes that creep in on us& later define us.

We turn the tables with its 8th part focusing on those Positives Changes that are needed,must take&move on with:
*What are those necessary changes???*

*What are those Changes you decided to or had to take???...*

*Is it because of the Christ-Centered opinions you NOW share which conflict with theirs???*

*Is it because they are losing you because you now concentrate on what is most needed???*

*Is it because of the deep sober reflection of your life hence the decision to draw away from that group???*

(They say you have changed...)
*Is it because they always want you at a point they can take advantage of or manipulate???*

*Why do you want to go back to that?...Why do you think you are mistaken for moving on??*

*So this- Why do you want to go back to him/her after all the many disrespect,abuse,disinterest,unfaithfulness, &being taken for granted even before marriage???*

*Is it because he/she has come calling again...How many times now when it is so clear he/she is unrepentant???*

*Do you think you are the only one to change that friend because of the closeness &wonderful times you shared???*

*Why are you going back when he was clearly leading you astray???*

*Or is it because he was sooo good to you???*

They say you have changed... *but isn't it because you've now woken up,found yourself& now see things differently???*

Beloved,these are some of the many *positive changes* we make which we sometimes doubt. So, Part 7 dealt with the negatives changes &today's on the positive changes.

I must add it can be extremely difficult to discern between all these situations.
Therefore,deal with  them situation by situation&most importantly let the Holy Spirit guide you.

We ended Part 1 on 1 Cor. 3 on not *being Like a Little Child* & we continue right from there'

*Don't be like a Little Child*
In 1 Cor.3:1-2- _'Brothers, i could not address you as spiritual but as worldly-mere infants in christ. I gave you milk not solid food for you were not ready for it. Indeed,you are still not ready._

How would it be if we all remained as infants/babies as we were born?

How would it feel if you still remained a little child?...( _It may have its sweetness but i believe it has it also has its own burdens...They, can tell you..Remember wanting to be like daddy just because...����_)

Then this- Always doing that one same thing& being tossed around(controlled) with instructions here&there???

God didn't bring us here to remain as babies. For there is a time to be born&a time to die which means in between there is that growth process. Being&staying a little child(esp. in mind) goes against God's natural order.

God brought us here for a *PURPOSE*-one that only *begins* with a little Child. *Don't be Like a Little Child*

*Be like a Little Child*-not in mind & physique if not for health conditions but purely in *HEART*. As Jesus engaged the little children in Mark 10:13, he saw love,purity,meekness,innocence&a yearning heart.

When Jesus sees these attributes of a little child in us, *he also craves for us,gladly welcomes&usher us into his presence all the time,cares&caresses us&bless us above all.*

The chief blessing is that the kingdom of God becomes ours aside the other blessings we so wish.��

The _'Be like...,Don't be...'_ series is back&today it is on Children...Little Children,Infants,Babes/Babies.

Little children(Babies) are delicate,pure& innocent. It is *safe* to say they  have no bad desires or evil motives. ( *.. The little ones these days are wild oo..That is on the funny side����*)

God wants us to be like a little child as described above but does he want us to stay as  immature& of little use like a little child.That is the pivot on which today's Be like,Don't be like  hinges on.

*_Let's go for the scriptural situations:_*
*Be like a Little child for they are the Greatest in the Kingdom of God.*
The scriptural verses to this short account of Jesus,disciples&little children are many. _(Matt.18&19, Luke 9&18 and Mark 9&10.)_

And in all the accounts,the key thing is- Who is the Greatest in the kingdom?

The answer is what God wants us to do:
To be like a little child-pure in heart,humble&meek to fully embrace God,the genuineness&extreme simplicity of his word.

_God&his stuff can be too simple even in its complexities&that is where we bring our adult human reasoning. However,God reminds us- it only takes a little child to do this-Soul of a child_

This was why Jesus used the child to demonstrate this to his disciples&to us today. *Be like a little Child!*

*Once i make that bold declaration&have that unwavering belief that 'I have Jesus;i don't know what's ahead but i know my God has got it covered!..ME W) JESUS!*

Today,we do _The Turning Point for Mr.Otchere_& we continue right from where we left off:

_So as Jones held the mic with his left hand all through,it was so clear that his hanging frigid right hand was motionless to the audience.All this while, a young hopeless destitute boy who had lost his way entered&slowly leaned on the side listening to Jones._

_As Jones ended his speech further inspiring many,the M.C stood up to continue only to overtaken by the chairman of the event who voiced out *'I don't believe in this whole Me W) Jesus thing.'*_ 

_Now,that was Mr. Otchere,who was also a deacon at his church.He had been a mentor&spiritual father to Jones as he encouraged him to never lose his faith.He had no doubt choosing him as the chairman._
_'Why would he disgrace him?...Not at this time?...What is happening?...Jesus,if indeed i have you...'_ -These were the thoughts of Jones& i believe the many people&dignitaries.

_Even before Mr. Otchere could justify his shocking disbelief, another man out of nowhere further poisoned the atmosphere._
_'I also don't believe in this whole MeW)Jesus trap.Okay,i was forced here&have been sitting for hours...Now,don't quote to me all the verses with the righteous has many troubles but the Lord..I know them!...Tell me how can i lose every possession i acquired just within 48hrs...I...I..'__

Mr. Otchere rudely cut in with... _'Stop right there...i just received a call that my only son just passed on.i had been suppressing this...Over the years, i lost my wife who had had several miscarriages...Now for my only son..._

  _It was a wrong call&your child is doing well_ said Mr Otchere's friend.
_Mr. Otchere who was just beside himself knelt down. All of a sudden,the room was full of joy as Jones hanging frigid hand was miraculously working like normal as he held the Mic to speak. Mr.Otchere then joined the crowd who were shouting...Me W) Jesus...Ye W) Jesus_

_Their jubilation was cut short as announcement was made of a missing boy.That boy who was at the back run off when Mr Otchere was spewing his unbelief and....��_

*YOU HAVE JESUS...WO W) JESUS...ME W) JESUS!* ☺��

*THE BIGGEST AWARD(PHIL. 3:7-14)*

_And the award for the order of the star of Ghana goes to..(You)_ *_How would that make you feel?_*

Now that is the *Biggest Award* in Ghana. It is the highest national honour which means the recipients' contributions should be highly immeasurable in terms of its massive impact on the people.

It is a human institution&so will definitely have its flaws if you are thinking whether people who get it are  well-deserving or are skewed.

Awards are meant to recognise& motivate&so are not bad per say.A few of the many scriptural references to back it.(2 Tim.4:7-, James 1:12,Prov. 3:7, Phil. 2:16)

*I believe it is the craze for it& what you allow it to make you do that makes it bad/sinful.* However, it can easily serve as a bait for sin to fester. _This is true because there is a really deep feeling that comes with it._

_I 'kinda' know this because recently one of my writings(short story) was nominated at the Ghana Writers Awards 2017.Though i didn't win,i knew what i felt within me☺.Finally,my work has been recognised. I felt like a winner for just the nomination(Something i didn't believe before when said by these stars)_

*And so what if an Oscar,Grammy,Nobel Prize or Ghana's highest honour???*

Today's message  about the *Biggest Award* is to first serve as a perpetual Reminder,A Check & for us to ultimately redefine what our Biggest Award is or should be.

*As said,Awards are not bad.There is certainly the biggest award on Earth but many have set the earthly ones far&high above the spiritual which is most important.They don't even think about it let alone work towards it.*

Now from Paul,this should be the mindset of every christian:
_'But whatever was to my profit i now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more,i consider everything a loss compared to...knowing Christ....for whose sake i have lost all things. i consider them rubbish that i may gain Christ... I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus._(Read fully in Phil. 3:7-14)

Mind you, not everyone will get to win earthly awards but the biggest award of the crown of Righteousness is for every Christian who have longed&,waited for his appearing.(2Tim. 4:8)

There is no competition whatsoever,we are all running our own race towards the big prize. What's wonderful in this race?...we even help&support each other to get there.

With this mindset,whatever we do on earth won't even be for awards but to impact a soul just for the sake of Christ. The Awards that comes will be *the other things added to you for God&his crown of righteousness is your Biggest award.*

*LET THIS MESSAGE ABOUT THE _BIGGEST AWARD_ BE A PRAYER,A CHECK&ACONSTANT REMINDER.*

*GOOD-BETTER-BEST (LUKE 10:38-42)*

Well,let's just say it all started at that level when we were taught- *Positive-Comparative-Superlative.*And so this- _Good-Better-Best.Until your good is Better &your Better is Best..._

In Luke 10:41-42
_Jesus Answered:- Martha,Martha, you are worried&upset about many things,but only one thing is needed. *Mary has chosen what is better*& it will not be taken away from her._

Jesus did not mean that what Martha was doing wasn't *Good* but there was something *Better.*
_There are a lot of Good things that take us away from what is Better& many 'Betters' from the Best._

_Your job is good&paying quite well even as you seem so indispensable but stop continually postponing that chance to upgrade yourself...for what is better awaits you.A time is coming when..._

You can bring up Mediocrity.I choose to use the word 'Settling'.This is different from contentment which is valuing&being grateful for what *you can have now*...not preventing you from aspiring higher.

Many are settling for what is far below their God-given potentials &capabilities just because they got married,or made one significant achievement or a few.

Beloved,the Plans of God for our lives is not just Good or Better. It is certainly BEST.

The amazing thing is, what is Best in God's sight will continue to be tied to his will&purposes for our lives. This means we'll continue to strive&strive towards the Best till we fulfil our purpose. As a result, even with what we see as the Best, there is always the Best after that Best.

I dare use this respectable 'human being' as an example&this is a paraphrased quote- _'Even at where i am,there are a lot of things i haven't done that i still want to do'-Pastor Mensa Otabil._
All these give prominence to Vince Lombardi's quote: _Perfection is not attainable,but if we chase Perfection we can catch Excellence._

In doing this,God sometimes put/lead us to situations where we lose the very good or better conditions so as to keep on attaining the priceless best times in our lives.

_He left his very *good* job at the bank in order to go into shoemaking. After being mocked by a friend for wearing a ridiculous wear,he decided to redeem his dignity by getting a *better* wear.Admiring it,he raced out to ask a shoeshine boy who passed by if he could make something similar._
_The spectacular outcome led to the *best* decision-Heel the World-A Shoe Company that was featured at the World Economic Forum.And he continues to strive for the best even after the best move. *This is the true life story of Ashesi Univ.Graduate-Fred Deegbe.*_

*THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE*(from Our Daily Bread-Prov.10:19-21)

Our Daily Bread continues to be a blessing to many& to my *On This Morning* devotional.

I bring you Nov.23 edition of Our Daily Bread titled The *Sounds of Silence.* Here we go:

_The Feeling buddy of mine observed,"Shallow streams make the most noise," a delightful turn on the old adage,"Still waters run deep."_

_He meant,of course,that people who make the most noise tend to have littleof substance to say._

_The flip side of that problem is that we don't listen well either. I'm reminded of the line in the old Simon and Garfunkel song Sounds of Silence about folks hearing without listening._

_Oh,they hear the words,but they fail to silence their own thoughts and truly listen. It would be a good if we all learned to be silent and still._

_There is 'a time to be silent and a time to speak.'(Eccl.3:Good Silence is a listening silence, a humble silence. It leads to right hearing,right understanding and right speaking._

_"The purposes of a person's heart are deep waters,the proverb says,but one who has insight draws them out.'_ (Prov. 20:5)
_It takes a lot of hard listening to get all the way to the bottom._

_And while we listen to others,we should also be listening to God and hearing what he has to say._
_I think of Jesus,scribbling with his finger in the dust while the pharisees railed on the woman caught in adultery.(John 8:1-11).What was he doing?_

_May I suggest that he could have been simply listening for his Father's voice and asking,"_
_What shall we say to this crowd and his dear woman?"His response is still being heard around the world._

*QUOTES ON CAREFULNESS&BEING _TOO_ CAREFUL*

When i decided to do quotes about Carefulness today, I remembered that  somewhere 2016, i should have treated this topic.

Carefulness(Being too careful or say being Meticulous)is a grey area that is mostly not talked about *clearly* even within  the christian context.

It is the safest advice to give by all including Christians... *_but should a christian be careful with the whole Grace&being spirit-led messages &*_(clearing my throat)_ *Is it a  SIN for a christian to be careful or too careful?*

I don't know when but would definitely come back to it. For now, i'm sure *these quotes should suffice:*

*BE LIKE PETER(PART 3)*(Be Like Peter...Don't be Peter Series)

Yes,the title changed to just *Be Like Peter.* I searched&searched but could find nothing against Peter after Jesus ascended&the Holy Spirit came upon him all in Acts( _ooh Antwi Peter,Ma f3re o,Peter y3 ����_)
Let's go into them:
*Be like Peter after Jesus ascended because he showed great Leadership*
With no Child's play&extremism, even before the Holy Spirit came, we saw Peter in Acts 1:12-,leading the disciples&group of people about the direction of the Apostles&Judas'replacement. Mind you, this was after engaging in  constant prayer.

He was straight to the point,focused& purposeful.
Other marks of leadership shown was in Acts 2:14 where again he addressed a crowd about God, salvation& the Holy Spirit.

I must say this runs throughout his ministry. *Beloved as a leader,Be like Peter here.*

*Be like Peter for your life can be full of healing&miracles*
Oh yes,it's possible. I'm writing this speaking to myself. I'm sure at a point Peter marveled at what God did through him as his shadow could even heal.(Acts5:15) Peter marveled in Acts 10:34 as God miraculously used him to find&save Cornelius.

My personal testimony was  during NUBS-SHOP evangelism in the Northern Region (Bogni) where God used my group to win the soul of the local deity. It was a wonder to me.

Healings&miracles are very scarce now because *we've all* not availed ourselves fully to God&his Holy Spirit. We're caught up in this world&its entanglements.
*Be like Peter for your life can be full of healing&miracles*

*Also,Be Like Peter& live everyday of your life witnessing& winning souls.*
Beloved,you don't need to be an evangelist to do this.Every christian has that mandate as in Matt.28.

Once again,the total ministry of Peter after Jesus ascended equated to Winning souls.It cut across every single aspect of his life.(Acts 3:19,10:1-)
It was a hard terrain at the time too amidst all the persecution. A Peter who couldn't stand in front of a young girl denying Christ 3 times endured the Sanhedrin&Prison. The determining factor is *The Holy Spirit*

You also have the Spirit inside you. *Be like Peter by living each day witnessing/winning to a soul through the many means.*

*Again,Be like Peter just because of this- THE HOLY SPIRIT*
The pivot of Peter's ministry was all about the HOLY SPIRIT. If Peter changed from who he was-his fears,weaknesses,denials et al; it was all due to the *Holy Spirit.* Every step Peter took was ordered by the Spirit.No wonder he led many to receive the Holy Spirit&the outpouring. And indeed,he was sought after everywhere.(Acts chapters- 5,9,11,15)

We are blessed&have Power not just because the Holy Spirit is upon us but also in us. Why are we living as powerless Chrisians? Simply,  Let's dedicate or rededicate our lives to God allowing his Spirit to lead us in all you do. *BE LIKE PETER.*

Let's go into them:
*Be like Peter in terms of his Closeness to Jesus* Now,don't be deceived,with all his _'too known&in your face'_ personality,Peter didn't impose himself on Jesus. Jesus chose him out of his will like the others (Mark 3:13)

In Mark 9&Matthew 17,Peter was part of the 3-inner circle (James&John) who were transfigured with Jesus.His closeness is also seen as he mostly led the disciples,was often used by Jesus receiving
a lot of mentions among the disciples.

We are all christians but some are closer to Jesus than others. Jesus is open to all. It all depends on how serious you take your spiritual life.
Peter showed this with a repentant heart,ready to learn&improve attitude aside his extreme passions. Be like Peter,draw nigh to God&he'll draw nigh to you.(James 4:8)

*Don't be a traitor like Peter*And i'm sure you know where i'm going with this especially when forewarned in Matthew 26&Luke 22.

We can all raise the human weakness flag but that is why Peter is a test case for us.Here,it was spiritual pride-relying on his status as a leader&close associate of Jesus.With this,it is easy skip the warnings.

Such are dominant in friendships.Learn to stay true&loyal to that relationship.The signs will always be staring at you even before your denial or unfaithfulness. *Don't be like Peter here*

*Be Daring like Peter but not fearful like Peter.* This is to his walking with Jesus on the sea in Matt. 26.This best describes the man.He started,he made the move.He killed the fears of new beginnings which can be you as an enterpreneur.

If you did so&took that good risk then don't allow the fear of moving on to cripple you.Face it all.Jesus has got your back in the middle of the sea. *So here,Be like,Don't be like Peter.*

Now this:
*Be like Peter who was into&passionate about his craft/ministry,discerning-Confession of Christ which made him the rock on which the church is built(Matt.16:13)*
*Not all occasions but asked the needed questions which brought out the answers (Matt.17.24)*

*Don't be like Peter who was complacent right after his confession of who Jesus is. Be alert(Watch&pray).As a leader,cut off a lot of the excesses,annoyance&'look look face' Peter exhibited.(Just read-Matt.17. *v.4...In all these,Jesus beloved was John in John 21)*

*SO I SAY:*

*'Be Like Peter...Don't Be Like Peter'*(Part 1)

This is the *Be like....,Don't be like... series*. We kick off with the character Peter.

I find 'Bra' Peter�� in the bible to be very funny, interesting&a unique character. _He was Spiritual yet over-spiritual too,daring yet full of fear..._

There are a lot more to learn from him.These are key selected accounts as taken from the 4 gospels of the life of 'Mr. Peter'- The Disciple.

Let's go into them:
*First,the Calling.Be like Peter in responding to Jesus call over your life Now.* Heyy,see you?... scared again because you're only looking at full-time ministry.So what if?...����
As Jesus called out his first disciples in Matt.4&Luke 5, (Simon)Peter& Andrew his brother *responded immediately leaving everything.*

*How well do we respond to God's call?*...Many at times, it's because we haven't availed ourselves enough& also to be convicted. Jesus told the Samaritan woman _if you knew the gift of God&who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him& he would have given you living water._ (John 4:10)

James 1:17- _Every good &perfect gift comes from God..._
How well do we allow this to sink within our spirit being. If it was,we wouldn't be treating God's call like we do just because of its issues&its perceived kind of life.

Peter without knowing what that normal fishing day held availed himself because it was the higher calling of God. That was his Life. *Note this- Missing your Purpose in Life is EVERYTHING. Note again,it may be Full time or not. He is calling right now... Will you be like Peter?...*

*Next,Please Please Don't Be Like Peter in this because he is one annoying,Too known(Nhwehwuanimu),radical 'guy' to find in the Bible*

In John 13,Peter didn't want Jesus  to wash his feet when it reached his turn.You could sense Peter's 'showmanship'  in v.8-9 with
_'You shall never wash my feet.'_ . Then when Jesus responded _'If i do not wash you, you have no share with me.'_. Peter then said _'Lord,not my feet only but also my hands&head!_ ...

Okay,check out Peter here once aagain in Matt. 26:31-35 when Jesus forewarned him about his denial.
Out of Spiritual pride,Peter said _'Even if I have to die with you,i will never disown you._
Working with such characters in a group can be very discouraging&annoying. And in a case of a leader as Peter,it only set the wrong examples.

More so,one bad example as a leader is his aggressive &radical manner by cutting someone's ear in John 18:10 just because of Jesus arrest...Did he know of what his death was to do for mankind?...

I've observed that Bra Peter didn't take his time to wait upon God before acting in many situations. Aside other examples,it was the same right after predicting Jesus as the Messiah(Mark 8:27-)

*With this,Don't be like Peter.*

*BE OF GOOD CHEER(A CHEERFUL HEART)*

*Job 9:27*- _If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will put off my 'sad countenance, and *be of good cheer*;_

*Daniel 10:19*- _...and said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, *be of good cheer*, and be well. And as he spoke unto me, I was strengthened and said, Let my Lord speak;for thou hast strengthened me._

*John 16:33*- _...In this world,you will troubles, but *be of good cheer*,i have a overcome the world..._

And so there is great value in *being of good cheer.* I believe it starts with having a cheerful heart.

Developing or having a cheerful heart is extremely difficult in this world we live in. _*How can I?...*_ I'm sure you're recounting or thinking of what you're going through.

We can have & in fact, there are many reasons not to be of good cheer but in all these, I don't know what we gain or have gained from being sad or worrying through our problems.

*Being of good cheer* doesn't in anyway mean *You Don't Have Problems*. It only means *_No Matter What the Situation is,_you have a God,he is always with you& will indeed see you through it all*

The Bible in Philippians 4:8 says _Whatever is true,noble,right,pure,lovely,admirable...if anything is excellent or praiseworthy; think about such things._

With this,the Bible is calling us unto having that positive mindset. *This is what Positivity means.* There is no way if we stay focused at this, we won't have a cheerful heart & be of good cheer all the time.

Proverbs 15:13-A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

*I believe this is& should be our lifestyle& that is what God wants &has enabled us to*

_Philippians 4:4,-Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice._

Noone wants to be sad but i believe because of the world we live in,  we tend to accept or lean towards such sorrowful things.(acting too careful). This is why this message is here.

_Personally, i hate to be sad. I love to be happy all the time. First,not to depend on anyone or anything but on God who spring it from within._ ( *I believe it goes for all*)
_Then, i focus &surround myself with positivity every step of the way.It has gotten to the point where when i am only in deep thought, i just tap myself &ask... *'Hey,Are you sad?'*_

Ooh don't be deceived.The  troubles keep flooding in but God wants us to keep looking at the solution,what he is saying &want us to do.

With this why won't you be full of joy,stay positive& *be of good cheer*which definitely lead us to fulfil our purpose.

*THE THING WITH CLOSE PEOPLE(PART 2)*

I bring you part 2 of the above title.As said from yesterday, we look at *how to witness or draw close/familiar people to Christ.*

And so families,friends&shyful people(mentors) we all have& are use to.
Anyone *you look up to* should at least live an exemplary life Otherwise they don't fit that status-It's just sheer admiration.

In the same way, someone you look up to in the faith should be one who should be able to build you up in Christ&not vice versa.(at least for the start)

However,as the person builds you up,with time both learn&build each other up as it has been seen.

*The key point here is to know&choose the right person who is full of Christ to follow.*(This will depend on your foundation)

That leads me to Family&friends.
*Friendship?*...So aside all the sweet 'foolishness' you guys do, for you, make sure you make the distinction clear &not compromise when it comes to matters of Christ.
No matter how difficult,the person will get to understand.

Speak,show Christ through the normal relationship& above all pray& live that christian life leaving it all to God.

*Families?...Have you sat down to think about why among the whole family, you are the only born-again or committed believer especially judging from the kind of family you come from???*

First,it tells you *it is  Grace* &the other is *God wants to use you to get to them*(Acts 16:31).This is how?...

*_First,Pray for them&continue to pray for them even as you take those guided steps._

*_Now this is their mindset-They know you&all your frailties right from infancy so they don't expect you to act as a saint &overly spiritual which is what we are._

(For them,it can be annoying&dissuade them from the core message.You doubt?...Train someone even in Christ &let that person come to you acting as Mr. know it all. It takes only Christ)

* _The above therefore means be real,understand their position i.e if it were you (Heb.4:15) *BUT never* should you compromise on the *core message.*_

*_The formal way of doing this may not be efficient...use the normal conversations,situations &simple and little things. Tone down on the arguments and above all let your life &prayer do the talking._

Remember,in all, you don't change them,it is *CHRIST*. As i write this,I have that testimony in my family after many prayers, having forgotten about it. It came without even realising it 'mpo'

SO I SAY:

*THE THING WITH CLOSE PEOPLE(PART 1)*

* We all have families that know us right from the get go.
* We all have people in our lives that we *'sooo'* respect & are very shy of. (Mostly,this relates to older people)

* We all have familiar people that we are used to.
* We *all*(_maybe not all) but we have close friends that we share minutest detail of our lives with.

*One of the difficult things in life is to be straight with such people,point out their wrongs,be sincere with them &above all witness or draw them to Christ.*(Part 2 tomorrow will look at the witnessing part.)

I can see how often you've disagreed in silence with that mentor or respected elder yet you keep on nodding to whatever he says.

Families,friends-would they even listen?...we know your greatest frailties&falls so where from this holier than thou...?

This is where i believe the whole narrative should change.
The key solution STARTS right from the relationship we have.

For our families & the people we look up to or respect; it has become a cultural thing to swallow whatever they say with hook,line &sinker.

_First, we know that at the initial stages, our families will be tough on us,very controlling &all that. That is needed but even around that time& as we grow,they should take the below into account._(This also goes for those we respect or shy of who have the better advantage)

_They should be real with their lives(be the *christian* that they are), be sincere,get down to the level of the younger ones & get to understand them._

_Also,make it a habit to *intentionally* engage them or allow them to speak their minds even about the elders themselves._

_It will amaze you what a 5-year will tell you about yourself if allowed within a conducive environment,let alone a 15-year old which can be a basis for a lot of necessary changes._

_With this,there is joy,friendliness&openness as the respect,recognition&love is also not lost._

As the relationship is clearly redefined in this manner,the younger ones will see the difference from the norm&this will clearly have a huge  impact on them.

So friends will always be friends.Chat,fool& move together.
That deep familiarity will be created *BUT* both should take a conscious decision to check&evaluate the relationship from time to time.

This is especially when one points out a wrong or new measure to embark on.This should be something you do often.It should  be part of the familiarisation/ friendship.

_It was like the current hitsong on everyone's lips. Even the Pakistan high commissioner who read it on facebook could not resist saying...'Mi hro Jesus' �� as he tapped the young ecstatic Jones &entered the State Banquet Hall._

_Apparently, some media organisations led by the formidable *Peep TV* upon hearing the story teamed up with various state agencies to organise this conference as a result of its great impact &testimonies._

_Kyei said 'My friends knew what i was going through &had warned me not to do anything silly. I guess their last try was *that Jones post*they sent me because i was...& it saved my life._The stout man said sorrowfully.

Sitsofe also said 'I don't want to go into my life but that was the best comfort i needed- *Me W) Jesus!(I have Jesus!)*

_Having gone through the formalities, it was now time for the main man,17-year old Jones Kwasi Attoh to speak._

_Jones first words were teary which was the expected *Me W) Jesus* as it received a rousing response._
_"I know many of you have heard the story but let me start right from here..._" Jones said

_Jones then chronicled his life from his normal christian upbringing, Ansere mum's dying moments down to his lying on the floor._ He continued...

_As i stretched my hand,i could see the last attire my parents wore&remembered nothing again.The tide had changed with my parents now on the worry train. I woke up in the hospital happily to see my two parents right beside me._

_Today as i speak to you,i have only my mum here. 3 months before this conference,i lost my dad....ooh they were not kidnapped...a land in the galamsey region caved in on them and they&some few others were safely evacuated amidst a lot wahala_

_My Dad had some health issues after that&passed on from there. I  speak to you with a frigid right hand because of the deep cut i had. In all, i believe my faith is now strengthened to take this& i dare say ready if it had been both parents..._

_Jones went on&on &ended beautifully further inspiring many. Just before he could sit, the next voice was... *i don't believe in this whole Me wo Jesus thing...*_
