Today, we do same with the ground-breaking evangelism programme ever to hit Kumasi- CEPOP (Community Evangelism Prayer Outreach Programme)

Let's look at THE QUESTIONS NOW:

*Do you want to make HEAVEN rejoice even as you are here on earth???

*Was it because you were just fortunate to come from a Christian home or by a conscious effort???

*How do you see  Missionaries???

*How have you always  viewed Evangelism& Discipleship vis-a-vis other 'things' in the Kingdom business???

*Is it meant for some people??? & Have you read Matthew 28???

* Do you win souls for Christ???

*How?...How best do you do it everyday???

*Do you think your lifestyle wins souls for Christ?

*What about the ministry or  professional work do???

* Do you know why specifically that lady can't stop telling you her private matters???

*Why didn't you  respond to that holy spirit call to evangelize when you sat in the car???

Have you seen a newly Born Baby?....How did you feel? There is something about them that makes us smile even as I'm doing now as I write.

I witnessed one recently & there was this thought of 'so what if the baby was mine.'(I shudder at those who neglect or dislike such an experience)

Just upon their gaze, their cry, innocence,smile, yawn and their whole delicate nature; it  communicates something beyond reason. There is this sense of gladness& unexplainable feeling.

The thought that this was growing inside of you & is a human being in the making.No wonder we treat them with so much care& affection.(VERY SPECIAL)

These verses go at the heart of today's message.The key emphasis is on WHO WE REALLY ARE IN HIM even before the works. Mostly, we are oblivious of this.

I believe that we need to be reminded  of who he has made us and the immense power we carry as children of God.This will then enable us to walk in that power&victory he's already laid for us.

YOU ARE 'DEARLY LOVED...LIKE A NEW BORN BABY'

'HOW DO I LOOK?'(MATTHEW 23:23-31)

You saw me in church yesterday. How did I look?... ooh yea because on sundays we really put on our best. (Y3 hy3 da fa y3n ho)

Beloved, our concern for how we look is far serious& takes bulk of our time than we think. Some crave for compliments whiles others really ask for it.

With all these i want you to ask yourself this question:
'HOW DO I LOOK?'

Jesus in speaking to his disciples talked about the attitude of the pharisees which reflected the title today. (Matt.23:25-28 )

25 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

28  In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

The verses perfectly capture today's message. 

Essentially,What do you take in spiritually. How well do you treat the spirit being.

DAILY WORD STUDY,PRAYER & an INTIMACY with the HOLY SPIRIT is all we need to look good spiritually.

No matter how overtly beautiful/handsome you are, in spite of the spice or enhancement from (a lot of) make ups; something huge is taken away from you if you don't LOOK GOOD SPIRITUALLY.

A lot of extremely look good people are walking about looking extremely horrible&empty just because they've forsaken their spiritual looks.

Remember, in Proverbs when he says 'Beauty is deceptive and charm is fleeting but a woman who fears God is to be praised.'(APPLY TO ALL OF US)

I see a lot of people who may not have those natural endowments yet I'm drawn to them because they continually cleanse their inside which reflect their outside.

And so when you stand in front of the mirror, yes do look good 'paa' but you must do the things that make you see beyond the physical looks .(Matt.23:23)

Ooh the question-How do i look?... Don't  bother answering 'koraa' because apart from being a slim fit, handsome young....., I AM A REFLECTION OF CHRIST MOST IMPORTANTLY.

SO I SAY, ASK YOURSELF:
'HOW DO I LOOK?'

Hello, I trust you are doing great.
It's a holiday& my Quiet  today was on point when it talked about Rest. Hope you'll take it easy or rest enough for tomorrow.

Anyway, we are doing the above title. Obviously about Evangelism.
However, I have also termed it 'A CEPOP  SPECIAL'

Now, let me tell you about this CEPOP. It's the acronym for Community Evangelism Population Outreach Programme.

It's a yearly evangelism programme embarked upon in our church (Trinity Baptist Church-Patasi Depot)

This year it takes place from June 6-19.
Now, I know I'm speaking to people far and near.
Of course, we'll be glad if you can join us but if you can't you can still learn something.

Remember, the GREAT COMMISSION is our general call as Christians. (Matt.28)

So, I touch on the core ingredient in witnessing-THE WORD.

As followers of Christ, we are called to be witnesses to what Jesus has done in us &for us.

We're just pointing people to CHRIST.
We don't need to explain EVERY theological issue  or answer EVERY question.

All we are to do is to prepare our minds, hearts in word&prayer.

Then, GO out there&tell them about this Jesus who DIED&ROSE AGAIN to save ALL humanity.

Do you know the amazing part?...That he's with you through it all giving you power through his Holy Spirit to witness to all nations. (Acts 1:8)

Beloved, 'THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A WITNESS'.

We'll talk more about the other things but this is where it all starts.

Straightaway, Can I shoot?
Okay, let me do this for the sake of those who may not have read this morning.

We're talking  about things of the extreme, overdoing things, excesses which we've termed 'WHEN IT IS JUST TOO MUCH'
(Can still refer )

Let me SHOOT now:
* Sometimes we just TALK TOO MUCH. Our talk may be relevant but it turns offensive&senseless WHEN IT'S JUST TOO MUCH.

You may be analytical or poetic but learn to be prudent, factual& basically talk the needful in spite of all the spice you bring.
(Proverbs 10:19
Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk, but whoever seals his lips is wise.)

* Hmmm, have you seen  the way some people want you to know they actually helped that person.

Overenthusiasm, Really(always) in your face& an attitude of the only one concerned.

You may really want to help but the naked portrayal of  I AM THE ONE WHO HELPED/CONCERNED steals  away all shine&blessing for that matter.

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. (Proverbs 19:17)

'And do when you give to the needy, do not announce it with  trumpets as the hypocrites do....on the streets to be honoured by men.' (Matt.6:2-)

* The same applies to church folks & work colleagues who want glory for themselves.

They are almost everywhere& unnecessarily overdo things or unexpected whiles groaning&harbouring stuff.
('Nhwehwuanimu they call it)

Anyway,
for church folks you can be a real temptation unto someone's faith so you better watch it.(Luke 17)  Then,
Colossians. 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for God  not for men, since you know that  you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.

*Finally, with the frequent visits&constant intrusion. Prov. 25:17 perfectly answer it
'Do not set foot in your neighbor's house too often. Otherwise, he will see too much of you and hate you.'

SO I SAY:
AVOID THIS
'WHEN IT IS JUST TOO MUCH'

'WHEN IT IS JUST TOO MUCH' (PART 1)

* There is no problem when you have to explain things to the core.

* Personally, I don't have a problem when you have to show concern to that dejected friend or help one in need. 

* Again, noone has questioned the fact that don't be involved in church activities or be good at the work you do.

BUT... (ooh let me add this one)
* So you stayed at the family friend's house, then you visited again&again,again....hmm

Beloved, when we overdo the above I mean WHEN IT'S JUST TOO MUCH, then it becomes something else.
Too much of everything they say is bad. It's very true in many ways.

(It is these situations many will say 3hi or 3hyii paa. Yea, it is but you just have to let it slide.Difficult, I know..)

Our God created things rightly and in order. The resources we have in abundance are not meant to be wasted but to be fully utilised by his greatest creation.
(This, man continues to fail at)

In fact,our God can & indeed provide everything in abundance for us. However, he requires us to use it rightly& in moderation.

In John 10:10, he says I have come so that they may have life,and have it abundantly.
However,  rhetorically, does it mean we can do anything with our lives?

Our elders say '3nam dodo) ns3e nkwan' which literally means 'Too much meat doesn't spoil the soup.'
However, the same elders say '3kom de wo a, y3n fa y3n sa mmienu 3ndidi'(Being hungry doesn't mean eat with your two hands)

We go into the details of the above situations but first let's look at what the scriptures mainly from the books of wisdom say 'WHEN IT IS JUST TOO MUCH'

Proverbs 10:19
Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk, but whoever seals his lips is wise. (God's Word Translation)

Proverbs 25:16
If you have found honey, eat only enough for you, lest you have your fill of it and vomit it.

Proverbs 25:27
It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one's own glory.

Proverbs 25:17
Do not set foot in your neighbor's house too often. Otherwise, he will see too much of you and hate you.

Proverbs 23:19-20 Listen, my child, be wise and give serious thought to the way you live. Don’t associate with people who drink too much wine or stuff themselves with food.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal;...

'MEDITATE!' ( ISAIAH 40:25-31)

Isaiah 40:25-31 is the passage to MEDITATE on.

So let's MEDITATE!

25 “To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.

26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.

27 Why do you complain, Jacob?
Why do you say, Israel,

my cause is disregarded by my God”?

Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.

And so as you may have observed on QUOTES, I have been taking Quotes from  a lot of foreign ministers of God.

Today&for the upcoming weeks, I'll be concentrating on our local ministers. There are equally powerful ones here you know.

He's a Ghanaian based minister, an evangelist, prolific author, conference speaker&finally founder and Presiding Bishop of the Lighthouse Chapel International .

He was born on 14th May1963 to a Swiss mother and Ghanaian father  in London.
After his secondary education, he proceeded to Legon's Medical School where he was trained as a Medical Doctor.

He's married to Adelaide Heward-Mills, a lawyer and a Reverend Minister and they are with 4 children.

He's heavily involved in ministry work having trained  thousands of Pastors and missionaries the world over.

Noticeably about his ministry is his books which are simple & understandable. Some are: The Art of Leadership, The art of hearing , the renowned Loyalty& Disloyalty series of seven titles.

'FAVOUR' (PART 2) (LUKE 2:27-52)

Okayy, so we rather do Part 2 of FAVOUR this morning.

Of course, we looked at what FAVOUR is& what it is not.

I gave my definitions which took us into the Bible. Then, we rounded up with what to do to get Favour for it's NOT merely there for every Christian.

That leads me to today's message& our focal passage Luke 2:27-52.
The main text relating to the topic is  in V.52
'And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man'

Now we read this very often &immediately want to claim all that is there but we fail to read up to see what young Jesus did.

Now it all starts with  Jesus' Parents who frequently dedicated him at the temple as custom demanded.

A lot of prophecies&confirmations were said about him still to the marvel of his parents& even the prophets.

Being raised with this, Jesus continued to abide in the temple courts.

And this is how he was described in v.40
'And the child(Jesus) grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.'

At 12 years, young Jesus stayed behind after the festival leaving his parents to look for him.And this is where scripture says they found him:
V. 46 'After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.'

The Bible tells us that he continued to do his father's business&out of that he was described in v.52 as... having FAVOUR with God and man.

Exactly what i said yesterday about FAVOUR.  There has to be that intimacy with him, one that doesn't stop but continue to grow and flourish.

I said yesterday that a person with FAVOUR is one that BLOSSOMS meaning becomes more attractive, successful&stronger.

Such people have this peculiar shining light that attracts others to them. People just can't resist you. (NOT IN ALL CASES right?)

It is also likened to God's Grace and blessings because out of his favour, they are released.

And so we are beside ourselves. Left totally stunned. FAVOUR works like magic- unexplainable& so unclear but the only reason is that someone is working behind the scenes for you.

The only silent trigger is to BASK IN HIS GLORY ALWAYS

Note:
*FAVOUR or BEING FAVOURED doesn't mean you don't experience troubles.
*Also, it just doesn't mean when people can't stop looking at you. (There may be something seriously wrong)
*And NORMALLY it has its timing or season of operation.

Isaiah 66:2 says, “These are the ones I look on with FAVOUR: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who TREMBLE AT MY WORD.

SO I SAY, CONTINUE TO SHOUT
'FAVOUR'

'FAVOUR'(PART 1) (Luke 2:27-52)

And so from IGNORED?...yesterday we move to FAVOUR.

You know what? I've been wanting to write about it &so when I did IGNORED?.. yesterday it took me to FAVOUR right away.

FAVOUR?..As always let's look at what the definition says about it.
- Approval, support, or liking for someone or something.
-An act of kindness beyond what is due or out of generosityor mercy, prejudice, partiality.

Now just the latter part of the second definition is what intrigues me you know.
Clearly, before we go into the details, it shows that negative aspect of FAVOUR.

A lot of people show favour to others for various conditional reasons&that's where the prejudice&partiality come in. Mind you being generous is good but that in itself doesn't constitute FAVOUR.

Therefore, we look at what FAVOUR really is.(As we say Real or True FAVOUR)

These are my personal definitions:
-A Peculiar Shining light all around you. OR
-  One who is like that attractive& blossoming flower.
-It's a clear demonstration of God's approval or that God is with you. (More here later)

The Bible doesn't give a specific definition but there are various allusions to FAVOUR.

Our main verse will be in Luke 2 about Jesus.

There is that aspect of Favour where God chooses certain people out of his own mercies.  (Romans 9:15)

For some like Abraham& others,  it may not be clear but there is something rightfully underneath . 
For Mary, there was a clear basis for God's favour upon her.

This leads me to what many people think about FAVOUR. For some it is just there for every Christian.

Essentially for some it is about that special something that people see or want.
You just have to find a way or have to have that special something, features, mannerisms, personalities, spark... a..n..d that religiousity because God is also there you know.
THAT IS ALL FOR SOME.

Sorry but that is not the favour of God. The above is just that simple fleeting likeness that will wane with time.

Get this:
God's favour is also based on SOMETHING.  Something that YOU DO. Without it you DON'T GET IT EVEN AS A CHRISTIAN.

The good thing & the difference here is that he enables you to do that something & it is for all THOUGH NOT ALL DO IT OR AVAIL THEMSELVES FOR IT.

That something is to continue to BASK IN GOD'S GLORY ALL THE TIME.

IGNORED?...(Jeremiah 2, Isaiah 40:25-31)

Discounted,Disregarded,
Unnoticed,Unseen,
Forgotten, Forsaken

Totally Dejected! 

I choose to sum it up as IGNORED!

This is the life Kofi Asenso Okyere  who feels totally IGNORED!

IGNORED is he because his countless prayers to God for years for just that decent job to take care of his children don't seem to go anywhere.

IGNORED is he in life and ESPECIALLY at GOD because he recounts:
'What haven't i done Lord. Is it my life, dedication to your work, total surrender to you, helping the needy even in my state...What?...yet my problems keep compounding like Job.

IGNORED you say...TOTALLY OUT OF THE RACE.
Do you know why?...because apart from my family&very few sympathetic ones; I'm mocked & belittled at church, my neighbourhood & at various gatherings.

The latest is that of my extended family. As the last person&eldest among the siblings to be invited for the family gathering; it was rather for an ulterior motive.

Hiding under the scorn and disguise of being the 'experienced', I was sent on a long errand& by the time I returned the meeting was almost over.

I sat in& whiles presenting what I was sent for, I asked politely-'So how far?'...Momentarily, everyone turned mockingly silent after which the meeting continued without wink about my question.

It turned out it was a ploy to get me out of the meeting. I wasn't needed. I WAS IGNORED. IN FACT, I FELT TOTALLY IGNORED.

Everyone wants to be loved&cared for.  To be loved or attended to especially by those special people amounts to almost everything. However, to be IGNORED especially by those dear ones is like a stab with a  knife through the heart. It is very damning as one is left waiting, wanting and wondering.

In fact, many describe the throbbing pain/feeling to being ignored as the worst ever. They would have preferrred to be insulted or rebuked then at least the person cares enough vent his spleen to illicit a reaction. (More to come from here) 

Sometimes, this is what happens in our Christian walk with God.  We ask if he's there at all.We know the righteous has many troubles&God says he'll never leave us nor forsake us. SO,...WHERE... IS...HE?

READING- 'Jeremiah 2'

This is what the Lord says:

v.5-6 “What fault did your ancestors find in me,that they strayed so far from me?They followed worthless idol and became worthless themselves.They did not ask, ‘Where is the Lord,who brought us up out of Egypt and led us through the barren wilderness,

v.13 “My people have committed two sins:They have FORSAKEN me, the spring of living water,and have dug their own cisterns,broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

This is where Kofi's Bible study took him that fateful morning after reading the whole account. Wow, so God was forsaken too. He was IGNORED like i am and even worse by the Israelites who frantically suffered from amnesia. They easily forgot what God continuously did for them every step of the way.

Then as he looked at his  'ON THIS MORNING' devotional, he saw another passage.READING:

V. 27-28- "Why do you say, O Jacob and complain, O Israel, My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is DISREGARDED by my God?...Do you not know?...He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak" Isaiah 40:25-31(Read more)

That was the turning point in his life. To trust more, believe more knowing that even when we are faithless he will be faithful for he cannot deny himself. (2 Timothy 2:13).

HE WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU!. DON'T EVER FEEL IGNORED!...GOD IS WITH YOU! (That was the message in the devotion that he thought was perfectly tailor-crafted just for him)

TODAY...You won't believe when you see him...  Don't worry eee, I will show you Kofi when i see you.

SO I SAY:
IGNORED?...OOH HEAVENLY NO, FOR HE IS WITH US & ALWAYS TURNS IT AROUND FOR OUR GOOD.

'MEDITATE'(COLOSSIANS 1:15-23)

On MEDITATE today on 'ON THIS MORNING' we look at Colossians 1:15-23

I thoroughly enjoyed my read this morning& the insight it gave me as I meditated shortly.

I believe it will do same.
Remember, the Word of God is sweet as a honeycomb. (Proverbs 16:24)

So, let's  MEDITATE on Colossians 1:15-23

The SUPREMACY OF THE SON OF GOD

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.

22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

23  if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS.

So since today is the day, what else on 'MEDITATE' than to MEDITATE on Mothers.

Ephesians 6:1-3 –
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise – that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life.

'MEEKNESS'(Matthew 5:5, Psalm 25:9,149:4 45:4,1Pet 3:4,)

When I mention MEEKNESS, what comes to mind?...Weakness?...Maybe, because it rhymes with it but truly would you say that's what it means?

Let's look at these words- Subservient, Obsequious ( okay, too big)...excessive submission, being too humbly patient, prepared to obey unquestionably, naive, tame, spiritless.

Certainly, these words denote certain line of  Weakness for most people when carefully analysed.

Jesus himself was Meek and he preached it in Matthew 5. So?

Don't mind those...okay, you can only mind these dictionary definitions only for academic purposes. However, don't MIND it on the spiritual front.

This is MEEKNESS-It is closely associated with words like Humility,Gentleness, Lowly in heart but it even goes beyond that.
* It is an attitude....

*An attitude of total trust to God without disputing or resisting even if one disagrees.

*An attitude of accepting whatever God does as good&perfect.

*An attitude of wholly yielding your will to God and letting his, reign supreme.

Anyone of them would do. The above is what many describe as humble and gentle.We see the aspects of the dictionary  definition here.

Humanly, not all will be described as humble and gentle because sometimes you have to be feisty a little. Maybe, a mixture of it as led will do for our daily lives.

However, the difference in all these is the GOD FACTOR. We should understand that Meekness should ONLY be directed towards GOD.Aside God,Meekness ceases to be later definition given but becomes all the dictionary words used above.

Bringing Meekness to the human level makes it untenable.In fact, it can clearly be described as improper,weird,humanly gratifying and perhaps foolish because try as you could, you can't obey Man at all times. Never!(That is not the way God wants things to be done)

Surely, we must be respectful, humble, submissive to one another, people in authority et al but not the excess of it and in a sacrosanct manner. Only God has that exclusive right, honour and priviledge.

This is why we need God. We need to be meek towards God and God only.This only stems from the fact he is a Holy and Perfect God and that whatever he does is Good and perfect. This is to enable us live a pleasing and purposeful life.

Moreover, Jesus exercised the perfect example of MEEKNESS.

First, in accepting to die for us& then hours before his death giving up his will for that of his Father to prevail.This is an example for us. It takes a lot to get there. Yes, that's why you need to continue to invest in Word study&prayer at all times. 

One last thing, it isn't controversial but true. We are all Christians but for those who are MEEK, the Lord is keen on them than all others. This is because aside all the questions,doubts,issues they may have; they've fully availed themselves to him. (Not too little  and not in excess)

Have you done same as a Christian too? Psalm149:4- For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

SO I SAY:
'MEEKNESS'

'ABBA FATHER'(Rom. 8:15, Mark 14:36, Gal.4:6)

So,your parents have always been around eee?

Ooh SORRY if you've lost them. However, for reinvoking such a bad news,I've something for you here.

So, for you de3, you've always had them (Father& Mother) with you&around you.I am sure it is in order to be thankful to God for that.

 
Let me move away from the typical motherhood thing. Let's do it this way:

Growing up, you always like to lie on Daddy's big shoulders, able to go to him anytime&even scream his name DADDY whenever you wanted.

The wonderful thing is to see a young lady who has a very intimate relationship with the father.This is what Fathers today are gradually becoming. It is our prayer that this sustained so as to impact positively on our families and society at large.

It leads us to God, our 'ABBA FATHER'

The word ABBA is an Aramaic word that would most closely be translated as “Daddy.”

A common word used by young children to address their fathers. It signifies the close, intimate relationship of a father to his child, also indicating a childlike TRUST that a young child puts in his “Daddy.”

Beloved, this is the message today. God, the one you serve has given you the right to call him ABBA FATHER...DADDY. The only qualification is to ACCEPT HIM as SAVIOUR & LORD. (Romans 10;9)

We normally see God in a very fearful light.We talk about his love but truly we see him as a fearful giant whom we have to beg and shudder. Leave that to the devil &his cohorts, it is them who believe and shudder in his name

Romans 8:15
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again...the Spirit you received brought about your ADOPTION to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Our God wants us to move from old, primitive, domineering, fearful mentality of Fathers to the new, refreshing, accommodating,loving,merciful DADDY...ABBA FATHER mentality where the FAITH AND TRUST LIKE THAT OF A CHILD is the basis of the relationship.

 A CHILDLIKE TRUST in the UNFAILING ONE= ABBA FATHER RELATIONSHIP.

In my personal relationship with God,I really chat,play,enjoy whiles having an intimate spiritual time with him. Yes, I really do.

Be focused and serious with God but that 'Gidigidi bi saa no' as if  God is fast running out and you either catch him now or never. Sometimes, it looks like we're fighting God.

It is just over the top fueled by a notion put into heads. DON'T JOKE WITH GOD,YES, BUT MAKE TIME TO ENJOY HIM. IT IS A RELATIONSHIP!

And so it is extremely painful not to have your parents with you but here is the full assurance and fulfilment- You can ALWAYS  rely on this unfailing, joyous and perpetual relationship with your ABBA FATHER.(GOD)

This goes to everyone, every christian or that matter.

Galatians 4:6
'Because you are his sons,God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba , Father.”

SO I SAY:
JOYFULLY RELATE WITH  YOUR 'ABBA FATHER'

'THE PERFECT REMINDER'(1COR.11:23-32)

Well, I don't know what you keep as REMINDERS.  Ooh yes, I'm talking about REMINDERS in this life. 

Okay, let me start with the usual:

*Did your Alarm clock wake you up this morning? If it did, then obviously it served as a REMINDER. (However, you know the countless times it has failed you)

*In your normal office setting, senior level managers keep Personal Assistant(PA) to remind them of their  numerous itineraries.(Jokingly, I have a dear  friend who calls me PA because I act as one)

Beloved, in this life we all need REMINDERS.  People Reminders& all other Resource based Reminders.

All these help to keep us going in our daily activities. Just try to keep these mechanisms in place. IT HELPS.

However, they fail. Yes, we know because sometimes it fails in the mysterious of well planned circumstances.

The perfect REMINDER?...God's Word&his Holy Spirit.  The two move in tandem because they're ONE.The above Scripture has very little to do with REMINDERS. 

It's about Communion&its remembrance.  However, what took me there in my Quiet Time today is in v.26

'For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.'

As instructed by our Lord Jesus, Communion Service is way people are to SPECIALLY REMIND one another of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

This is a good practice& it constantly keeps us awake to the meaning of Christ redemptive work on the cross.

The Lord knowing the disposition of man to easily forget having lost any perfect trail he put in us, gave us the simple & common sense approach to resort to people and resource-based reminders.

However, the amazing thing is that when the above fails and we feel let down by him, the same God uses these same reminders in a unique way just to let us know that left to those reminders alone we wouldn't be able to make it. By this, our God is simply telling us to always& fully RELY on him and not on the mediums through which he operates. 

Beloved, don't you see anytime you're in tune with the Spirit, everything goes well. He becomes the perfect reminder you need by making sure that even in your not so perfect life; the needed help, preparation & direction are provided in order to make it in this trouble-ridden life.

I believe the best way to live our lives is to always 'REMIND' ourselves of the Word of God daily& be in tune with his SPIRIT for they are the 'PERFECT REMINDER' we need in this life.

In this life, never leave out the 'THE PERFECT REMINDER'

'SPECIAL PURPOSE SITUATIONS' (Ezra 9:5-9, Hosea 1.)

I look at this intriguing&somehow controversial topic today. What I call 'SPECIAL PURPOSE SITUATIONS'

The simple definition to the title is when God chooses EXTREMELY peculiar situations&people in fulfilling his purpose at certain points in time.
Already, we know our God is unpredictable. He works in mysterious ways& his ways are not our ways.
This,we know as it continues to beat our imaginations.

However, with SPECIAL PURPOSE SITUATIONS, it gets really complicated and we only have to place them distinctly,watch it pan out beautifully all to our understanding& to his glory.

So, What are these situations.
Let me start with this,
* Maybe, Leicester City championship win yesterday was a SPECIAL PURPOSE ONE?

*And so in the Peacekeeping Mission of over a thousand of people; you were the only one who survived.

Do you think it was a fluke or one of those normals?

*For some, on countless occasions, God has continued to save them from the many accidents.
The moment they move out,then something happens?

It doesn't happen all the time. This is because it's for a SPECIAL PURPOSE. So, does God not care about the other souls?(Always a difficult one to answer)

Situations in the Bible:
*Why did God choose only Abraham out of his other siblings to make Father of all nations?

I don't have a direct answer except that in Rom.9:15, God says I will have mercy on whom I have mercy.So?...

*Go and Marry the unfaithful Prostitute Gomer.This is the instruction God gave to Hosea, the prophet. He obeyed.

How about this? Why so?...To save the nation and to show God's faithfulness to us even in our unfaithfulness.

* In Ezra, when Israel went into exile in Persia, God spared a remnant of Israelites.
The reason was to preserve God's law and later for them to rebuild the temple.

Beloved,many are the situations we can give about this.
With some, the understanding will come with time and for others we'll have to leave it to the SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD.

I must say SPECIAL PURPOSE SITUATIONS are difficult to understand&they don't always happen.

However, there is one thing we know: Everything God does is  always best&for our Good.

So just like many others, ours is just to TRUST him. And these SPECIAL PURPOSE ONES are even the more reasons why.

MEDITATE!!! (COLOSSIANS 3:1-17)

Intentionally, I  decided to take this passage for MEDITATE today.
It's all about our Christian life.

So let's MEDITATE!!!
COLOSSIANS 3:1-17
RULES FOR HOLY LIVING

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.

8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

13  Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

SO I SAY:
'MEDITATE'
