Hello, I trust you are doing great. It's a holiday& my Quiet  today was on point when it talked about Rest. Hope you'll take it easy or rest enough for tomorrow. Anyway, we are doing the above title. Obviously about Evangelism. However, I have also termed it 'A CEPOP  SPECIAL' Now, let me tell you about this CEPOP. It's the acronym for Community Evangelism Population Outreach Programme. It's a yearly evangelism programme embarked upon in our church (Trinity Baptist Church-Patasi Depot) This year it takes place from June 6-19. Now, I know I'm speaking to people far and near. Of course, we'll be glad if you can join us but if you can't you can still learn something. Remember, the GREAT COMMISSION is our general call as Christians. (Matt.28) So, I touch on the core ingredient in witnessing-THE WORD. As followers of Christ, we are called to be witnesses to what Jesus has done in us &for us. We're just pointing people to CHRIST. Straightaway, Can I shoot? Okay, let me do this for the sake of those who may not have read this morning. We're talking  about things of the extreme, overdoing things, excesses which we've termed 'WHEN IT IS JUST TOO MUCH' (Can still refer ) Let me SHOOT now: * Sometimes we just TALK TOO MUCH. Our talk may be relevant but it turns offensive&senseless WHEN IT'S JUST TOO MUCH. You may be analytical or poetic but learn to be prudent, factual& basically talk the needful in spite of all the spice you bring. (Proverbs 10:19 Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk, but whoever seals his lips is wise.) * Hmmm, have you seen  the way some people want you to know they actually helped that person. Overenthusiasm, Really(always) in your face& an attitude of the only one concerned. * There is no problem when you have to explain things to the core. * Personally, I don't have a problem when you have to show concern to that dejected friend or help one in need.  * Again, noone has questioned the fact that don't be involved in church activities or be good at the work you do. BUT... Our God created things rightly and in order. The resources we have in abundance are not meant to be wasted but to be fully utilised by his greatest creation. Okayy, so we rather do Part 2 of FAVOUR this morning. Of course, we looked at what FAVOUR is& what it is not. I gave my definitions which took us into the Bible. Then, we rounded up with what to do to get Favour for it's NOT merely there for every Christian. That leads me to today's message& our focal passage Luke 2:27-52. The main text relating to the topic is  in V.52 'And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man' Now we read this very often &immediately want to claim all that is there but we fail to read up to see what young Jesus did. Now it all starts with  Jesus' Parents who frequently dedicated him at the temple as custom demanded. A lot of prophecies&confirmations were said about him still to the marvel of his parents& even the prophets. Being raised with this, Jesus continued to abide in the temple courts. And so from IGNORED?...yesterday we move to FAVOUR. You know what? I've been wanting to write about it &so when I did IGNORED?.. yesterday it took me to FAVOUR right away. FAVOUR?..As always let's look at what the definition says about it. - Approval, support, or liking for someone or something. -An act of kindness beyond what is due or out of generosityor mercy, prejudice, partiality. Now just the latter part of the second definition is what intrigues me you know. Clearly, before we go into the details, it shows that negative aspect of FAVOUR. A lot of people show favour to others for various conditional reasons&that's where the prejudice&partiality come in. Mind you being generous is good but that in itself doesn't constitute FAVOUR. Therefore, we look at what FAVOUR really is.(As we say Real or True FAVOUR) These are my personal definitions: -A Peculiar Shining light all around you. Discounted,Disregarded, Unnoticed,Unseen, Forgotten, Forsaken Totally Dejected!  I choose to sum it up as IGNORED! This is the life Kofi Asenso Okyere  who feels totally IGNORED! What I call 'SPECIAL PURPOSE SITUATIONS' The simple definition to the title is when God chooses EXTREMELY peculiar situations&people in fulfilling his purpose at certain points in time.
